Hi everyone and welcome to top and Tuesday. 1 common question I get on auto policies is what is uninsured underinsured motorist coverage? So what this is, is it's actually covering you. So if you are involved in an accident that's not your fault and the other person does not have insurance or does not have enough insurance, you are covered to get for your medical expenses and to get your car fixed. So a perfect example is actually in our family. So a few years ago my husband was sitting at a red light at Graham Rd. and 91 and he was rear-ended. It was two cars behind him that pushed the middle car into him. The person that caused the accident only had state minimum coverage and there was not enough coverage to cover our vehicle. So we had to put our insurance, the claim through our insurance and it was paid an under uninsured motorist coverage. But that's the example I have. And it is important to have that covered on your policy to protect yourself for the drivers out there that do not carry enough insurance or do not carry insurance at all.
