Want to figure out what your dream job is? Pretend you have 9 lives. The rules of this exercise are straightforward: ✔️Assume you have nine lives, and in each of those lives, you must work. ✔️You will not win the lottery, marry rich, or receive a huge inheritance. ✔️Whatever skills and education are required to perform each job, you possess them. ✔️However much money you need to make to be happy, you make it. ✔️Every job has equal prestige. Now, jot down what 9 jobs you would hold. 📝 It may be tempting to consider the barriers to these positions and hold yourself back with a “but”. The idea of this exercise, though, is to identify your interests. While those “buts” may be realities that will make some of the roles you choose less attainable, you’ll still be able to spot important themes. With those in hand, you can gear your job search accordingly to find a position you were meant for. 🤝 #DreamJob #careerpath #jobsearch

Age Shouldn't Hold You Back! I recently worked with an incredibly talented older client. Right from our first meeting, I could see his exceptional skills. During our conversation, he shared his concern that his age might affect his job search. I assured him that his age was not a barrier. Instead, it brought a wealth of experience and knowledge. I encouraged him to view it as a symbol of wisdom, not an obstacle. To his surprise, he landed his dream job quickly. This experience reinforced my belief that age is not a limitation. Sometimes, we think time restricts us. But remember, your age shouldn't prevent you from pursuing your dreams. Your life experiences make you more knowledgeable. When I first set out on my job search years ago, I was more concern in finding a job to pay bills. Soon after, I started investing in my education because I wanted to create a career. I wanted to build up my skills from my earlier employment, to move me into higher-paying and higher-prestige employment opportunities later on. Over the years, I began asking myself... What is my calling in life? Why? I needed to find fulfillment, contributing to others, pursuing my passion, achieving specific goals that bring a sense of meaning and satisfaction to my life. Today, I know that I can create a career that allows me to do what I love and love doing it! IT WAS NOT ABOUT PRESTIGE.... Proof that Age is just another number! I recently had the chance to work with an amazing older client who was very talented. Right from our first meeting, I could see how skilled he was. During our conversation, he told me he was worried that his age might stop him from getting a job. I reassured him that his age was not a problem; in fact, it brought valuable experience and knowledge. I encouraged him to see it as a sign of wisdom, not a barrier.
