July 2024. Colonel (GS) Rainer Beeck, Chief Digital Officer of the German Army, responsible for land-based operations, visited the Universität der Bundeswehr München and dtec.bw. Colonel Beeck was able to see selected research projects of dtec.bw, one of which MissionLab. Prof. Axel Schulte and Prof. Peter Stütz introduced the research laboratory for digital mission technologies (MissionLab). Part of the tour was also a walkthrough the MARC - HuMiCS Lab that represents the bulk of the virtual simulation elements within MissionLab. Obviously, mission sensor and mission management automation is the DNA of #softwaredefined defense.
