AuKing Mining Limited (ASX:AKN) managing director Paul Williams sits down with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to discuss the company’s proposed acquisition of a 100% interest in the Myoff Creek Niobium/REE Project in British Columbia, Canada. This project is notable for its extensive near-surface carbonatite mineralisation, which spans 1.4 kilometres by 400 metres, as revealed by historical exploration. Among the high-grade intercepts recorded are 0.93% #niobium and 2.06% total rare earth oxides (TREO). The mineralisation remains open at depth and along strike, suggesting substantial potential for further discoveries and expansion, with maximum detection limits of niobium and cerium found in rock chips about 2 kilometres away from the previously drilled zone. Brazil advancing in the rare earths supply chain Great move, specially for the West. The 50:50 JV will establish a rare earth separation refinery and a magnet recycling facility in Brazil. Separation technology has already been demonstrated by Ionic Rare Earths Limited in its recycling plant in the UK. Viridis Mining and Minerals Limited will supply mixed rare earth carbonate processed from the Colossus Project on standard market terms.   The JV also aims to capitalise on growing demand for rare earth elements, which are crucial for various high-tech applications including electric vehicles and renewable energy systems.   ❗ Secure REO [rare earth oxides] supply is critical for a broad range of modern technologies that we depend upon every day, including the huge demand from the energy transition evolution under way, specifically electric motors, wind turbines, HVAC, robotics for advanced manufacturing and defence.   ❇ It presents an incredible opportunity for Viridis within the rare earth supply chain, not only because the company aims to be one of the few in the world capable of producing light and heavy rare earth oxides outside of China, but also by positioning Brazil as a fully integrated miner, producer, and end-user of rare earth permanent magnet materials   ❗ ❗ The initiative positions Brazil at the forefront of a circular process to attract the REE supply chain. Stelar Metals Ltd (ASX:SLB) has fielded promising intersections from its initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Trident Lithium Project near Broken Hill in Far West NSW. The drill campaign took place in November last year and involved 29 holes for 2,630 metres across 18 sites at the Euriowie Tin Pegmatite Field, in what is considered one of the country’s pioneering #lithium #mining provinces around 50 kilometres from the mining centre. The endeavour not only confirmed the presence of high-grade lithium but also identified broad intersections of anomalous lithium concentrations within the pegmatites. Knights Bay continues exploration of Concession Block 21, following an estimated 135km line of outcrop within the 1444km2 mining concession. The following short video gives you an overview of some of the outcrops identified across the substantial nickel laterite target within the concession. Sampling since 2020-2023 has indicated average 1% Nickel grades over substantial areas and thicknesses over 25 metres. Geophysical testing has begun, with results to follow, in order to select the most appropriate methods to suit this very large unique deposit. It’s a very good point: there are plenty of viable mining operations that don’t get off (under?) the ground for many reasons, funding being one of the biggest hurdles junior miners face - and sometimes fail to overcome.
