☕ The coffee can be prepared in many ways, each of which imparts a unique flavor, aroma, and consistency. But what are the fundamental methods of coffee preparation? 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: in this method, water passes through the ground coffee. The result is a coffee with a dense crema, intense aroma, and a full-bodied flavor. It can be obtained through espresso machines, moka pots, drip filters, or capsules. 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Here, coffee is boiled directly in water and extracted at high temperature and atmospheric pressure. Turkish, Greek, or Ethiopian coffee are examples of coffee prepared by decoction. This type of coffee has a light foam, spicy aroma, and a strong flavor. 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: This technique involves immersing ground coffee in cold water for approximately 12-16 hours, followed by filtering the mixture to remove grounds. It forms the basis of cold coffees, such as cold brew, known for their fruity aroma and sweet, delicate flavor. Did you already know about these coffee preparation methods and how they influence its flavor?

Do you know this about coffee?☕️ There is actually only two coffee beans, Aribica and Robusta Arabica coffee plants thrive at higher altitudes with cooler temperatures and adequate rainfall. These conditions contribute to the development of more complex flavors and acidity. Robusta plants are hardier and can grow at lower altitudes, in warmer climates, and with less rainfall. This hardiness contributes to their more robust flavor profile and higher caffeine content. Coffee companies often roast their beans to achieve different flavor profiles and to enhance the overall taste of the coffee. Roasting is a critical step in coffee production that significantly impacts the final flavor, aroma, and color of the beans.

Maybe you have been asked why there is a term called blend coffee and why do they combine different coffees together? Maintaining the final quality: Over the course of a few years, a farm will certainly suffer from climatic changes and ultimately qualitative changes in its product. By using this technique, large companies have been able to maintain the uniformity and stability of their taste quality over the past few decades. _Creating functional and sensory properties in the coffee cup, according to the audience's taste: Although currently, single origin coffees are more popular among people according to statistics, but with the implication that single origin coffees always have one or more quality characteristics different from other coffees. By combining these different types, they try to create a uniform and non-offensive taste and maybe even more caffeine in the combination as functional properties, to include the taste of all their coffee contacts. _Economic justification and concealment of natural defects of Dan Sabz: It is possible that the sabzi bean has gross taste defects and the production and sale of this coffee as a single request, considering these defects, has neither credit nor economic justification for the roaster, but by combining this bean with another coffee, the quality and reach the desired economic justification. What other reasons do you have for this action, and do you prefer single or combined coffees?

Are you producing the best roasted coffee for your consumers? Why are some roasted coffee producing companies more successful than others? The obvious answer would be because they maintain good quality of the product. Obviously this has a great impact, but that is not the whole truth, when you want to sell your product to a community in particular, you must know its tastes and history, coffee, like many other beans, changes its flavor, texture, color and smell depending on how its preparation process was before and after roasting, mixtures of washed coffee with ordinary coffee make For this to change radically, even using the same type of coffee, the variation in flavor depends, in this case on the percentages used of both washed and regular coffee, so, if the destination is a community like the Italian one, it should be use a high percentage of ordinary coffee, giving that characteristic bitter flavor and a strong dark color to the cup of coffee, which is why it is very important that when making the mixture you know where it is directed or who its main consumers are.

❓What is drip coffee? And what's the difference between it and regular coffee or 3-in-1 coffee? Drip coffee bags are a convenient way to brew freshly ground coffee without the need for a machine. You simply place the bag over your cup, pour hot water through it, and in a few minutes, you have a fresh, flavorful brew. The key difference between drip coffee and regular coffee is convenience. Drip coffee bags give you the same quality as traditionally brewed coffee but with much less effort and no special equipment. As for 3-in-1 coffee, the difference is even more significant. While 3-in-1 coffee is instant and often contains additives like sugar and creamer, drip coffee bags contain only pure ground coffee, providing a richer, more authentic taste. In short, drip coffee offers the convenience of instant coffee with the superior flavor of freshly brewed beans.

BEHIND THE SCENE OF YOUR CUP OF COFFEE: CUPPING We have finally arrived at the last step of the coffee journey; it’s time to taste and evaluate the quality of our beverage! 😎 Let’s dive into the captivating word of cupping - a sacred ritual in the coffee universe. It’s not about just sipping coffee; it’s a very technical approach backed by a standardized sensory method 📋. Using the SCAJ grid, we meticulously assess every aspect: fragrance, aroma, acidity, body, balance, sweetness, cleanness, and flavor. From producers to baristas, cupping guides us through the journey, ensuring quality at every stage. But before talking about the descriptors, let’s talk prep! Espresso? Hand-drip? Filter? Only a medium grind, hot water, and voila. We savor the fragrance of the beans, the aroma when putting the water, and after breaking the crust, removing the foam, time to evaluate the flavors ☕ Now the sip. Technical. As we slurp, we're not just tasting; we're spreading the flavor across our palate. It's an art, like savoring ramen in Japan. We're not only analyzing flavor; we're also examining texture, body, and uniformity across cups 📊 As the coffee cools, flavors evolve, and we also have to observe these changes. This isn't just sensory analysis; it's a whole new experience. Coffee has a language of its own, with an incredible range of descriptors. From stone fruit 🍑 to citrus 🍋 to berries 🍓, each sip unveils a symphony of flavors. The coffee flavor wheel is a great support. Do you want to give it a try with your own coffee beans at home? #coffeecupping #sensoryjourney #coffeeadventure 📸 Unsplash-Paulo Evangelista
