MISO has approved the largest transmission expansion in U.S. history: 488 projects spanning over 5,000 miles across 15 states, enabling 28 GW of new generation. With $72 billion in potential benefits, this marks a major step toward a cleaner, more resilient energy future.

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙭 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙯𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙’𝙨 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠.🎯 ✈️ Recently, our colleagues visited Swissgrid’s headquarters to dive into their operational processes and begin drafting the roadmap for this project together. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴. This introduces complex capacity constraints and coordination processes, which are also required with the numerous hydropower production units and distribution system operators connected to the transmission system.⚡️ In this already complex context, Swissgrid AG foresees an important increase in the number of outages needed in the following years due to their ambitious maintenance program and infrastructure projects, rendering their current process no longer adequate.💪 👉 Within the scope of Swissgrid’s Vision Operational Planning Program, N-SIDE 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱.
