𝐓𝐁𝐒 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧 TBS are delighted to have worked with Heidelberg to deliver a new, high specification aggregate bin upgrade at one of their RMX sites by the River Thames in Central London. The project involved the complete removal and replacement of the plant's existing aggregate storage bins which were used to store marine aggregates and sands, brought into the capital by barge. TBS replaced the original bins with a fully galvanised structure to extend the life of the aggregate storage area. The new bins have a ‘live’ aggregate storage capacity of 55 tonnes, with 100% of the space now fully utilised with no material left in the bins when emptied. To ease material flow from the fines bins, hard wearing, low friction Tivar liners were fitted to the tapers. Commenting on the project, TBS representative David Carlisle noted, ‘Many aggregate bins are in need of replacement because the bin linings are worn through, yet the main bin structure is still structurally sound. We wanted to create a future proof, more cost-effective solution where the customer can simply replace exact worn areas and not a complete set of bins. Now, even if bin liners are not replaced at all over time, the customer has the option to change out both the base taper section and the wear liner on each individual bin section, so all is not lost.’ Given its location in central London, it was important the installation was carried out in as short a time as possible, to allow plant production to recommence. The TBS and Heidelberg site teams did a fantastic job and worked long hours to ensure the original aggregate bins were removed and new bins installed in just 5 days. The plant is now fully operational and back to producing RMX concrete for the local market. TBS would like to thank Heidelberg and our site team for their excellent planning and execution to complete the project ahead of schedule. #TBS #Heidelberg #aggregatestorage #builttolast #UKmanufacturing #bespokeplantdesign

Just released on application of #ESCS in structural self-consolidating concrete: "Cyclic Behavior of Expanded Slate Lightweight Self-Consolidating Concrete Beam-Column Joints Containing Polyvinyl Alcohol Fibers" by Ahmed T. Omar, Basem AbdelAleem, and Assem A. A. Hassan Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador, Cairo University "This paper investigates the structural performance of light-weight self-consolidating concrete (#LWSCC) and lightweight vibrated concrete (#LWVC) beam-column joints (#BCJs) reinforced with monofilament polyvinyl alcohol (#PVA) fibers under quasi-static reversed cyclic loading." "The results also indicated that using an optimized #LWVC mixture with 1% #PVA8 fibers and a high LC/LF aggregate ratio helped to develop joints with significantly enhanced load-carrying capacity, ductility, and energy dissipation while maintaining reduced self-weight of 28% lower than normalweight concrete (#NWC)." #ligthweight #aggregate #concrete #expandedslate #selfconsolidating #PVA #fiber https://lnkd.in/gsJhGWFy

Did you know that despite one of these drainage channels being manufactured from polymer-concrete and the other from polypropylene, both actually have a C250 load class rating!! What does this mean?….well it means that both channels and grates have been load tested to 250kN, so they can effectively withstand a point loading of 25 tonnes…impressive right?? Advances in material technology and drainage design means that we at EBP BUILDING PRODUCTS LIMITED can offer a wide range of drainage channels and gratings to suit a wide range of requirements. One example is ULMA Architectural Solutions: Hydro channel (pictured right), it’s lightweight yet high load class makes it ideal for driveways and housing developments. Equally as impressive is ULMA’s Mini channel which has a shallow profile and therefore requires a shallower trench (pictured left). We can assist with all channel drainage requirements and provide a range of options including mixed pallet loads, stock to branch or direct-to-site. UHPC Solution
🗿 UHFRC (Ultra High Fiber Reinforced Concrete), using Bekaert's Dramix® steel fibers, will make sure your projects are steady as a rock! Today, we wanted to share a remarkable UHFRC-project with you, realized with our valued precast customer, PREFFOR Prefabricados Formex S.L.. Together, we successfully tackled a significant challenge: 🌊Protecting the structural beams bearing the pontoon and its lower face from the salty aggression of the sea water and easing its casting by having those UHFRC lost frameworks/covers. Because actions speak louder than words, we added a short video where you can take a closer look at the project! #Bekaert #Steelfibers #Dramix #Concretereinforcement #Precast #Innovation #Sustainability #Construction

Ever seen concrete move so slowly? This captivating flow is high-strength concrete (HSC) in action, a material we’re highlighting this #TechServicesTuesday for its exceptional sustainability, durability, and performance. What makes HSC so special? The strategic mix that includes not just lower water-to-cement ratios and high-quality aggregates, but also essential supplementary materials like fly ash and slag cement. These components, byproducts of coal combustion and the steel-making process, are not only about repurposing waste. They significantly enhance the concrete's properties by reducing porosity, thus boosting durability and reducing the potential for damage from environmental exposure. This video's thick, slow-moving concrete mix visually represents the reduced porosity and the meticulous care put into achieving a #concrete mix that sets the standard for modern construction needs. The result? A concrete that’s capable of supporting taller, stronger, and more sustainable structures. #HighStrengthConcrete #ConstructionInnovation #TechServicesTuesday #Sustainability
