Not all bootcamps are a waste of time, hear me out... As someone who has gone through one previously and landed tech role to be honest it depends on the skills/sector that you want to go into in tech. It's like choosing a degree, ask yourself, "What's the demand for this skillset?" "What is the projections of this particular role in the future?". You got to put in the research. Now are there some sketchy bootcamps out there? Most definitely! You obviously want to be aware of things like the "who", the "how much", and the "what do they offer". Does their output match their claims? Money back guarantees also. You MUST DO RESEARCH on the bootcamp or better yet reach out to individuals who already went through to gain some insight on it. Bootcamps are not designed to get you a job just because you went through it. Bootcamps provide the structure and necessary skills needed to GO out and GET the job. After acquiring the skills it's up to the individual to fish. You HAVE TO put in extra hours, study time, networking etc. You WILL NOT be handed a job. So before spending thousands of dollars on a well structured bootcamp ask yourself, "Do I hate my current situation enough to put in the work/ time and effort to make a change in my life?" If the answer is yes, go for it. You have nothing to lose by finishing what you started. "Potential" is a dangerous word. No one is coming to save you so you better LOCK IN! 🗣️
