Don't trust or make career decisions based on peoples opinions in comment sections on social media (that goes for LinkedIn too). Today on a live, someone said that there are HEAPS of Enrolled Nursing jobs in Sydney. I was speaking from experience and telling my audience how there are more opportunities for Registered Nurses than Enrolled Nurses. Now this person may have said this because they believed that there was an abundance of jobs in Sydney for Enrolled Nurses (or they were “trolling” for lack of a better word), but a simple SEEK Search proves otherwise. Right now, there are 106 Enrolled Nurse jobs being advertised in Sydney compared to nearly 2000 Registered Nurse jobs. Moral of the story, don't listen to unqualified people in the comment section on social media. Do your own research, take advice from qualified professionals and make your own decisions.

Salient points. My nursing units in the Office of the Chief Public Health Nurse (#OCPHN) in the NC Department of Health and Human Services will be 100% fully staffed when we fill this last position made vacant by a nurse leaving and another being promoted from within. When we are 100% staffed, however, we still do not have enough nursing positions alloted to these units. By policy and funding, we are chronically understaffed. We have a chronic nursing shortage due to permanent public health funding being continually reduced year after year. As a result, critical state-level #foundational #publichealthservices & functions, such as #PublicHealthNursing operational duties for #Emergency #PreparednessandResponse (#PHPR) efforts, are not able to be given the attention they deserve. A reminder, it would be inaccurate to make a flat-out statement that “there is no nursing shortage.” The problem is the word “shortage” means different things to different people, according to how they are positioned in nursing or their point of view. However, we indeed do have a shortage, several different ones. Perhaps there the shortage doesn’t exist within the context most think of; however, in other contexts, we have several shortages: - A shortage of experienced nurses to create a balanced skill and knowledge mix in work environments in more places - A shortage of nurses from historically excluded groups - A shortage of nurses working in community-based settings, shortage nurses researching nursing and health phenomena - A shortage of bi/multilingual nurses - A shortage of qualified nurse educators.. and more. So we have a shortage; it’s just more nuanced and multifaceted than most think..; we have bodies with licenses for sure, an estimated (5 million RN's and LPN/LVNs)that don’t necessarily always equate or translate to qualified nurses available to actually fill roles. #nursesonlinkedin #nursingjobs #nursingshortage #diversityequityinclusion #diversityinnursing

Having a diverse team of nurses is very important. It helps us take better care of our patients and understand their different backgrounds. Here’s why it matters: Better Patient Care: Nurses from different places and with different experiences can help everyone feel better understood. 2. Understanding Cultures: Nurses who know about different cultures can give better care. 3. New Ideas: A team with different kinds of people can come up with new ways to solve problems. 4. Stronger Teams: When everyone feels included, teams work better together. Here’s what we can do to make nursing more inclusive: Hire Diverse People: Make sure we are hiring nurses who come from all sorts of places and backgrounds. Teach Everyone: Have training sessions that teach nurses how to be inclusive and understand different cultures. Mentoring: Help nurses from different backgrounds grow by giving them support and guidance. Let’s make sure every nurse and patient feels valued and understood! #Nursing #Healthcare #Inclusion #BetterCare
