This week, the West African Football Academy SC (WAFA) travelled across the continent to the Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) Academies Workshop in Cairo, Egypt. This groundbreaking event focused on advancing youth football development in Africa—a mission close to our hearts. Some of Africa's top football academies, including Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. , Right to Dream, Al Ahly Sporting Club and Académie Génération Foot, joined to discuss innovative strategies for youth football excellence. The workshop emphasized collaboration and innovation in nurturing young talent. We explored strategies for creating structured competitions, improving academy frameworks, and fostering the next generation of African football stars. As part of WAFA's commitment to football excellence, we're excited to implement these shared ideas to further empower our players and elevate youth football across West Africa. Ambassador of Tunisia Received at the Ivorian Football Federation 🇹🇳🤝🇨🇮 This week, the Ambassador of Tunisia to Côte d'Ivoire, H.E. Zied Saadaoui, met with FIF President Yacine Idriss Diallo to discuss strengthening football ties between the two countries. This decision, to be formalized during the Africa Cup of Nations draw on January 27, 2025, aims to bolster African clubs' interests, enhance representation, and solidify Morocco's role as a key player in African football.

GUINEA FOOTBALL FEDERATION COMPLAINS TO CAF The Guinea Football Federation (FGF) has complained to the Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) that Tanzania should not be allowed to participate in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. This is for an alleged administrative violation during yesterday's encounter, during which a Tanzanian substitute wore an incorrect shirt number. At the moment, no response has been made by CAF regarding the complaint. Article 47 of the AFCON Regulations stipulates that: "For any administrative error in the registration of players, the national association concerned will be suspended from participating in the next edition of the AFCON, and its team will be eliminated from the competition if the latter is still on going." The question as to whether there was, in fact, an "administrative error" on the registration of Ibrahim Ame--the Tanzanian player who was introduced in the 73rd minute--is a question of fact.  Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) would be called upon again to investigate the claims of FGF, determine the facts and apply the regulations. Would FGF's claim and their hope to participate in the continent's most prestigious football tournament succeed? It is the first time in the history of Men Football at the Olympics that two African Nations have qualified for the Semi-Finals. Cameroon and Nigeria were previous recipients of the Olympic Men Football gold medals. Significant human and infrastructure investments are currently being made in Africa for the development and growth of football and particularly in youth academies for Boys and Girls. Local and international businesses and African Governments are partnering with CAF and several National Football Associations and Leagues as the global competitiveness and popularity of African football is increasing. AFRICAN AND IVORIAN LEGEND DIDIER DROGBA BLASTS SOUTH AFRICAN LEAGUE 🇿🇦 Didier Drogba: South African football League is the best in terms of Infrastructure and sponsors but there is no Talent in their league. Drogba had mentioned South African league is the best league in Africa because they have good infrastructure, like good stadiums and Financial muscles from their PSL. South Africa might be the best league in Africa than Ivory Coast ,Nigeria, Senegal, Zambia , Mali, Cameroon or Ghana but those leagues from those countries produce far more better players than South Africa. It is painful to see the country that have everything not being able to produce such great players that can play in la Liga, EPL, Serie A and French Ligue 1. If other countries had the same resources or infrastructure South Africa has, their league would have been so advanced to even attract more European Clubs to scout their talents. But that's life people who have resources don't know how to use them, and people who have talents dont have opportunities to have those resources to go far in life. Is Drogba right?
