There's still time to apply to do a Both Hands project and qualify for a $4,000 matching grant! We're so excited to share that families who apply by 1/31/24 to do a Both Hands project will be eligible to receive a $4,000 matching grant upon approval! 👏 👏 👏 **To qualify, the project must (1) take place in 2024 (2) raise at least $4,000 (3) and families must send out a certain number of fundraising letters to their friends and family to help raise support for their project. We know that the cost of adoption can be daunting. In fact, it's the biggest reason why families feel like they have to stop pursuing it--they just can't make the math work out. But that's where Both Hands comes in. Our projects over the past three years have raised an average of $22,000! That's the highest yielding adoption fundraiser out there. What do you do when your mission suddenly doesn’t feel enough? Double it? Defy mathematics? Well that’s what we are going to do with our Spark Curiosity programme where 1 = 2. For every box funded through our partnerships we’ll donate one in our Spark Curiosity regions. We’ve always been focused on finding ways to remove barriers to accessing fun, practical science and engineering. On Friday, 23rd August 2024, AVA donated around 30 chairs to the association Will Fly. These chairs will provide much-needed support for children who visit after school to learn, study, and grow. A simple chair can offer comfort and a safe place to focus, helping create an environment where young minds can thrive. This initiative is part of AVA’s continuous support to the community, in line with our CSR team’s commitment to making a positive impact on society. As per our society pillar, education is one of our main priorities, ensuring children have the resources they need to succeed. In addition, our environment pillar supports efforts to safeguard our ecosystems and raise awareness. I just learned that today is National Single Parent Day - a day dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary efforts of single parents everywhere. I can quite literally think of no more demanding, relentless, all-encompassing experience than single parenting. Young carers on average missed 23 days of school in 2022-23, compared to 14 days missed by young people who are not young carers. A new report by Carers Trust shows the alarming impact of caring on young carers’ education and opportunities.
