🌍 Cabo Verde: A Growing Sustainable Destination 🌱 Cabo Verde is widely known for its sun and beach tourism, with the islands of Sal and Boa Vista accounting for over 80% of national tourism in terms of visitors and overnight stays. This remarkable growth has positioned the country as a global tourism hotspot. However, there is extraordinary potential in other islands and new products that can complement and diversify the tourism ecosystem. It is rewarding to see the efforts of the Cabo Verde Tourism Institute in promoting sustainable tourism, eco-tourism, and nature tourism as a strategic focus for the future. 📌 During the recent International Tourism Fair in Madrid (FITUR), it was evident that Cabo Verde is strengthening the promotion of its "lesser-known" islands and unique tourism offerings, such as eco-trails, authentic cultural experiences, and nature-focused activities. This promotion, however, is not limited to events like FITUR — it is equally visible on social media platforms and the official Visit Cabo Verde website (🔗 www.visit-caboverde.com/en ), which highlights the unique beauty and experiences each island has to offer in a creative way. Moreover, the increase in flights between the islands and improvements in maritime connections will undoubtedly contribute to better integrating all islands into the national tourism ecosystem. This will allow more visitors to discover the rich diversity of each corner of the archipelago, fostering a sustainable balance for tourism across the country. 🚀 Now is the time to invest in innovation, sustainability, and strategic partnerships to position Cabo Verde as a global reference destination. 💡 Have you explored the lesser-known wonders of Cabo Verde? Don’t miss the chance to visit and discover a whole new world! #SustainableTourism #CaboVerde #NatureTourism #EcoTourism #SustainableDevelopment #FutureOfTourism

Appreciating the various actions stitched together in this article. Like a compass that points to a desired direction, this article offers guidance. "In an age where travelers seek more meaningful and enriching experiences, community-based tourism can be a powerful tool for sustainable development and ensuring a higher quality experience for visitors and locals. Unfortunately, this model has not been implemented in many modern-day traditional tourism offerings – particularly those in developing countries – where local people do not have a voice in the destination’s management and the economic benefits of tourism don’t effectively reach local people. To help combat these potential negative implications, community-based tourism allows tourists to immerse themselves in local cultures while empowering communities to have ownership and control of their tourism offerings, which helps ensure that the local communities fully benefit economically, socially, and environmentally." https://lnkd.in/eR3Vm9XD
