A Lesson from the 2024 Ballon d'Or Drama… A dedication to all those who feel cheated…! He who expects something is the one who could be disappointed… Indeed Vinícius Júnior was expecting a trophy and he was crushed when he didn’t get it. The super talented Vinícius Júnior and his millions of soccer fans across the world believe that he should win the highest personal trophy in the soccer world, but the Ballon d'Or organizers gave the trophy to Rodri. Vinícius Júnior was devastated and him and his Real Madrid club boycotted the ceremony in protest. The big lesson you can take from this Ballon d'Or drama is to know yourself well enough. Know your abilities, such that you can brutally tell the truth to yourself at all times. Always know where you fall in comparison to those you compete with. Better still, move the goal post by setting and working hard to accomplish your own very high standards, goals, and aspirations, not that of any organization, or external validator. Goals could be set, such as; number of goals per season, number of assists, number of trophies, supporting others who are less fortunate than yourself, and many more. In this case, irrespective of who gets what trophy, you know who you are, you know your achievements, and will never let someone else tell you otherwise. With this very confident mindset, you will go to any award ceremony, irrespective of who the winner is, without getting the award, and not be bothered, even to the extent of going to shake hands with the supposed winner. Focus on what you have and what you can control, and not be bothered by what you can’t control… In summary, when you judge your success by the loudness of the applause of others, you place your happiness in their hands…! This lesson applies to everyone in every industry, who feels cheated or overlooked for celebration or promotion. Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior, commonly known as Vinícius Júnior or Vini Jr., is a Brazilian super talented professional soccer player, the best in the world in my opinion, who plays as a forward for La Liga club, Real Madrid, and the Brazil national team. Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, known as Rodri or Rodrigo, is a talented Spanish professional soccer player, who plays as a defensive midfielder for the Premier League club, Manchester City, and the Spain national team.

A Swiss Tournament is a type of competition where players aren't eliminated. Instead, each player competes in every round. Pairings are based on performance, with winners facing winners and losers facing losers after the first round. In Swiss tournaments, you earn points for wins and draws, and the player with the most points at the end wins. If there are an odd number of players, one player may receive a bye. #SwissTournament #ChessCompetition #ChessSaga #UnleashYourInnerGrandmaster #chessthrills

In rugby the ball is tossed backwards as the player moves forward. Keep this in mind and get your audience interacting with each other not just with you. Lester Holt uses a technique where his correspondents send the story back to him by using his name with a question mark after it. That is a rugby move. Another might be you, as the presenter, saying: “Jack give us your thoughts then you can send it to Amy and she will send it to Sharita.” Before Sharita begins, you say: “After Sharita we’ll go to Sam, Agim, and finally to Lilibet.” This allows some preparation for a quieter, more reserved audience. Pulling names out of hat works too! What are your thoughts on this? I would love to hear! #PresentLikeAPro #PresentationSkills #PresentationTips

#touchofclass #cameraderie #competition Alexander Zverev won much acclaim in the manner in which he conducted himself, at the post-match interview following his game with Novak Djokovic. The match itself proved to be a touch anti-climactic, with Djokovic withdrawing injured, after losing the first set tiebreak. The Serb left to some boos from the crowd, who might have come seeking a much longer contest. The first thing Zverev remarked when he took the mike, was booing an injured player was not in the spirit of the game. Least of all, someone like Djokovic-a born champion and fighter, known to play through injury. And if he had to pull out, surely the injury was serious. These words were warmly applauded by the audience, now that they were set in the proper context with Zverev. And this brings us to the nature of all competition-on the blue courts of Australia, the classroom and lawns of educational institutes, and the boardrooms of modern-day business. Sure, we are all in it to win it. We are ready to fight tooth and nail for that coveted ‘W’. Employ all resources at our disposal, and every tactic we can think of. But eventually, this must always be conducted with a sense of healthy respect and camaraderie. The 'enemy' is the opponent’s effort or idea, not the person themselves. They are trying as hard to do the same. Their efforts and talents are no less worthy of our admiration. In fact, we learn from them. They make us better. They push us towards excellence. Eventually we are all in this together. It’s just that one person happens to triumph on match-point. Then, we all return to rallying trying to forge an opening all over again.
