Anniversaries are reminders to check in on our past selves... This was the heading of a MEDIUM newsletter published on 11th September. Although the content is about the horrific events of 9/11, it also made me think about other anniversaries. Birthdays, weddings, and other special events. "Anniversaries serve an important psychological purpose: They’re like checkpoints in time, reminders to pull over and remember the people we used to be." Anniversaries give us the opportunity to just stop for a moment, take a deep breath, reflect, and think about the lessons of the past. Who were we a year ago, or two, or ten? Who are we now? How have we changed? What have we learnt? What contribution have we made? What have we done for a better world? And what about our aspirations for the future? For ourselves? Our partners? Our families? Our communities? When we reach the next anniversary checkpoint, what do we want to reflect on? Got me thinking.... #reflection #appreciation #gratitude #personalgrowth

NEWS : Special Day ! Why we all need to celebrate… 👇 It was my birthday yesterday. I only got to open the cards & presents at 10pm. Bit late I know – let’s just say it had been a full-on day. But trust me, I’ll be celebrating in style this weekend! When it comes celebrating have you ever noticed the difference between our personal and business lives ? We always celebrate stuff in our personal lives. Birthdays. Anniversaries. Passing exams. Moving house. Getting married Etc HOWEVER We rarely (if ever) celebrate stuff in our businesses. Odd that. I think there’s a natural tendency for business owners to just focus on the next priority. It’s good to pause. Take a moment from time to time to reflect on how far you’ve come and what you’ve achieved. Most businesses there will be a lot to be proud of. 🏆Doing great work for clients. 🏆Team members passing exams and/or learning new skills. 🏆Achieving sales targets. 🏆Winning new clients. 🏆Implementing new systems 🏆Receiving amazing feedback/reviews from happy customers 🏆Creating and launching new products and services I learned a few years ago from Malcolm Smith why it’s important to celebrate all the wins & successes. Not matter how big or small. It’s because everyone (including YOU) in the business…. will feel better about themselves & what they do, will become more confident, will feel that they’re worth the prices you charge to your customers 💥 Meaning in the long run you’ll be more likely to charge what you’re really worth and make the profit you deserve. 💥 ❤️ Share if this is helpful 🔥 Follow me on LinkedIn for more content on pricing, profit and creating a better business.

🎆 Happy 4th of July! 🎆 July 4th has always been my favorite holiday. It takes me back to my Grandparent’s ranch in Northern California – the smell of the grill, family barbecues, and spectacular backyard fireworks. Those perfect midsummer days when everything seemed possible. Celebrating the 4th was all about freedom in every way. I’m smiling ear to ear just thinking about it. Today, I’m raising a glass to that same freedom. As a business owner, I have the liberty to attend a dear friend’s wedding, celebrate family birthdays, and enjoy the 4th just the way I love, while choosing my own work hours. Cheers to all of you amazing business owners! Here’s to the hard work, the rewards, and the freedom we’ve created. Happy Independence Day! 🎇 PS - If your 4th isn’t going as planned and you’re feeling more chained to your work than free, let’s chat. I can help. Promise. Just send me a message. #IndependenceDay #FemaleLeadership #BusinessStrategy #FreeRangeThinking #AIInnovation

Milestone birthdays! Generally any anniversary ending in a "0" is cause for celebration, but as Streets Chartered Accountants' Marketing Partner, James Pinchbeck discusses in this interesting article in the latest Catena Network Catenary magazine, when it comes to the work people do, and the jobs they have, there can be significant changes and challenges..... Do you know the origin of the phrase ‘to tie the knot’? It was the physical tying of hands together at a wedding ceremony – known as ‘handfasting’. This image is of my wonderful wife and myself all of 16 years ago today. We were married in a ceremony on Irelands hill of tara, the ancient seat of the high kings of Ireland. Today we go back up again, As we do every year on June 11th (and it hasn’t rained on us yet) To re-enact the 'handfasting' part of our ceremony. While handfasted, we create a space to have an open free conversation with absolutely no judgement. We are required to listen to the other person, make a plan to resolve any issues, accept what we need to work on personally and together, and set our intentions for the year ahead. It is a fantastic and grounding ritual that has served us well. We are lucky to have it. And I am lucky to have her. But that luck didn’t come without work. The connection doesn’t come without effort. Everything in life worth having needs work. And as we grow older that work isn’t just compromise, Or accommodation. The real work is the personal growth. Our own evolution and journey. I wrote a post a few months back about being married 3 times. In essence I get married every year. Every year I’m a little different and so is she. And thankfully we are happy to keep working together on whats between us. --- When we are stuck in life, When we are in that rut, repeating days, and weeks, Not seeing an end… The change we need is not the scenery or the job or the partner, The change is the internal personal work we have to do. Do that work and you will experience the change you need. This goes double for us men who shy away from the real work for too long… And that is often the root of our problems… ------ How does anyone else celebrate their anniversaries? #wedding #innerwork #menshealth #tietheknow #markcarolancoachin #mensmentalhealth

How Will You Make This Grandparents Day Special? Grandparents Day offers a wonderful opportunity to honor the wisdom, love, and support that grandparents bring to our lives. Here are three thoughtful ways to show your appreciation: 1. **Plan a Family Picnic in the Park** Take advantage of pleasant weather and organize a picnic at a local park. Pack some of their favorite snacks, share stories, and enjoy the outdoors together. It’s a simple yet meaningful way to create lasting memories. 2. **Create a Memory Book** Gather photos, handwritten notes, and keepsakes to assemble a personalized memory book. Whether it chronicles family history or highlights recent moments, this heartfelt gift will be cherished for years to come. 3. **Organize a Virtual Celebration** If distance is a factor, a virtual gathering can still bring everyone together. Set up a video call with family members, share activities, or even watch a movie together online. Grandparents will appreciate the effort, even if celebrated from afar. This Grandparents Day, take the time to celebrate the legacy of love and support that grandparents provide across generations.
