Bonfire Night is a time of celebration, but it’s important to remember that fireworks and bonfires can be dangerous if not handled properly. Here are some tips to help you stay safe: 💥Attend an organized event: Attending an organized event is the safest way to enjoy fireworks and bonfires. These events are usually run by professionals who have experience in handling fireworks and ensuring safety. 💥Keep a safe distance: If you’re setting off fireworks or lighting a bonfire, make sure you keep a safe distance from the fireworks and the fire. The recommended distance for fireworks is at least 25 meters away, while for bonfires it’s at least 18 meters away. 💥Never go back to a lit firework: If a firework doesn’t go off, don’t go back to it. Wait at least 30 minutes before approaching it and then soak it in water. Never use flammable liquids: Never use flammable liquids such as petrol or paraffin to light a bonfire. Use firelighters instead. 💥Keep water nearby: Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby in case of an emergency. 💥Wear appropriate clothing: Wear appropriate clothing such as gloves and eye protection when handling fireworks. 💥Dispose of fireworks safely: Once you’ve finished using your fireworks, dispose of them safely by soaking them in water before putting them in the bin.

I am delighted to announce that TP Fire & Security Ltd has completed its Corporate Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) this week, six months ahead of schedule. Going into Christmas five years ago, our future was very uncertain. Losses incurred from two large projects in 2017 and 2018 had put the company on the brink and we subsequently entered into a CVA in February 2019. During 2019 over 320 companies entered into a CVA. Only 90 of them exist today. This puts our achievements into context and makes me proud of the efforts and resilience of the entire organisation, particularly during the extremely stressful times in 2019 and during the early Covid period in 2020. Therefore, by contrast to 2018, the outlook for the company this Christmas is superb. We now have a great team working across the country, blue chip clients, and we are financially stable. TP Fire & Security is now an exciting place to be as we focus on further growth. There are a number of people and organisations who have provided us with tremendous support. To all of the great customers who stuck with us, your vote of confidence was crucial. From talking with many of you, I am gratified to know that we have repaid your trust with the quality and value we strive to deliver every day. Thank you to the suppliers who took a chance. I want to especially thank Bob Farrow from Fortus and Bruce Robins from CheckFire Ltd for taking a risk back in 2019. Your support has been crucial. I would also like to thank our friends at Bibby Financial Services, especially Tony Clampin and Ian Betteridge who stepped in in our darkest hour in 2019 to give us the resources we needed to stay in business. Most importantly I want to thank the fabulous and dedicated team of more than 100 people at TP Fire & Security. To keep the show on the road, so many of you have gone beyond what could be reasonably expected. Your dedication to the company has been exceptional. I would especially like to thank the 24 colleagues who have been with the company throughout the CVA. I know how worrying and stressful it was when the company’s future was so uncertain. Thank you for your loyalty and the tremendous commitment. Although this is a happy day for the company, it is tinged with some sadness as our founder Terry Young is no longer with us. As we made progress in putting the company back on track, he was delighted and proud to see his company succeeding again. He would be ecstatic about today's news. Today is the end of five years of hard work to get the company back on track and performing strongly. Now we are looking forward to the next five years when, freed of the restraints of the CVA, we can take advantage of many more exciting opportunities.
