💦 Dehumidification Jedi & Guardian of Dry Environments - ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer - ASHRAE Course Instructor: Humidity Control I & II
We ❤️ working with our #HVAC Manufacturer Reps! I spend every other week on the road, working hand-in-hand with Rep partners to grow business by better serving our customers. 🫱🫲 We take our commitment to our Rep partners very seriously. Here’s just a few of the ways we help…. 1️⃣ We make calls together on engineers, contractors, and owners to educate them on #dehumidification strategies and how solid desiccants do a better job handling more stringent and critical environments. 2️⃣ I’ll speak (sometimes as a keynote) at their industry events, including association chapter meetings, expos or symposiums. 3️⃣ We’ll make job site visits together, sometimes with installing contractors or design engineers. 4️⃣ We’ll run moisture load analysis, and prepare pricing proposals along with preliminary submittals on all projects, sometimes turning them around in a couple of hours, but usually well within a 24 hour timeframe (priceless service). 5️⃣ I’m constantly doing in-house or web based training for my Reps, their clients, and their own sales and in-house engineering staff. There’s a lot to learn and just as much to keep-up on. ▶️ And honestly, the list goes on from there… and it’s a long one! ✅ Are you an #HVAC Manufacture’s Rep looking for a conscientious, responsible, and trustworthy dehumidification vendor partner to team up with? If you are, please reach out to me! #davidschurk #engineering #engineers #mechanicalengineering #mechnicalengineers

Design Engineer CAD || Electrical Engineer || Solar System || Subsea || Operations Planner || Open to work
In electrical engineering, "arching" typically refers to an undesirable phenomenon that can occur in electrical systems, particularly in high-voltage equipment such as circuit breakers, switches, and contacts. Arcing occurs when an electric current flows through the air between two conductors, typically due to a breakdown of insulation or a gap between conductors. This breakdown creates a path of ionized air, which allows the current to continue flowing even though it is no longer in direct contact with the conductors. Arcing can be problematic for several reasons: Safety Hazard: Arcing can generate intense heat, light, and sound, posing a significant safety risk to personnel and property. It can lead to fires, burns, and explosions if not properly managed. Equipment Damage: The high temperatures generated by arcing can damage equipment components, such as insulation, contacts, and conductors, leading to equipment failure and downtime. Power Quality Issues: Arcing can cause voltage fluctuations, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and other power quality issues that can disrupt the operation of electrical systems and sensitive equipment. To prevent arcing and mitigate its effects, various measures can be taken, including: Proper equipment design and installation to minimize gaps and ensure adequate insulation. Regular maintenance and inspection of equipment to detect and address potential arcing issues. Use of arc suppression devices, such as arc chutes, arc extinguishers, and arc-resistant materials, to contain and extinguish arcs. Overall, understanding and managing the risks associated with arcing is essential for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems.
