Today is International Older Persons Day – a beautiful reminder to reach out to the older people in our lives, whether it's a loved one, a neighbor, or someone in your community. Take a moment to visit, call, or simply let them know you care. As we celebrate the wisdom, resilience, and contributions of older generations, it’s important to reflect on the changing demographics worldwide. Did you know that the global population of people aged 65 and over is projected to more than double, from 761 million in 2021 to an incredible 1.6 billion by 2050? Even more striking is that the number of people aged 80 and older is growing at an even faster rate. This highlights the need for increased support, compassion, and innovative solutions to ensure older adults can continue living with dignity and independence. Whether through improved healthcare, community support, or initiatives that promote social inclusion, we all play a role in creating a more age-friendly world. Let’s take today as a call to action: to honor older generations and make sure they feel valued, cared for, and included every day. #InternationalOlderPersonsDay #AgedCare #Community #AgingPopulation #SupportOlderAdults #MayflowerCare #CelebrateOlderGenerations
