A: A night owl. Mornings are not my friend. 👨🏫 Q: Learn by watching or learn by doing? A: That’s a tough one. I like doing my research, but getting stuck in, although scary sometimes, is the best way to learn. 💫 Q: What is the most incredible/memorable moment you’ve experienced in your career? A: I once ran an induction for 40+ HR consultants coming onboard for a massive change programme. They had anonymised copies of policies and procedures ahead of time, and we held an open Q&A. It was scary, as some had much more experience than I did, but I met the challenge head-on and the feedback was incredible. A true highlight during a very challenging project. I think my Theatre experience helped a lot that day. She works at Kedali as an HR Administrator, and we've asked her about her experience so far. 😊 - When did you start working in this job, what were the reasons for joining the company at that time, and what is the most rewarding thing you have learned over the years? "I started working as an HR Administrator for Kedali in 2022. I wanted to join Kedali because the job description sounded like I would enjoy it, and I thought that I could transfer my existing skills and experience to the field of HR, which was new for me. The most rewarding thing for me was taking over the work permit process and learning the ins and outs of it, so I’m able to help my colleagues when they have questions because I know firsthand how stressful it can be." - What is the most unforgettable experience in the work process? "Getting to know my colleagues. We are currently 12 different nationalities, and everyone brings their unique perspective with them. We’ve had many interesting discussions during coffee or lunch breaks, and I’ve always walked away having learned something new." - How do you think Kedali has changed from the time you joined the company to today? "A lot. If I compare the production floor on my first day and today, the difference is night and day. More specifically in the HR department, we have improved many processes and created a good foundation for the company to grow in the future." - What advice can you give to someone who wants to join Kedali? "Kedali is still a start-up company, and that comes with its own set of challenges that I didn’t fully anticipate either when I joined. Be open to changes in routines, work tasks, and even office layout, and stay flexible in your thinking."

Hiring for your own HR team? Don't sell the opportunity as 'strategic' 'innovative' or 'creative' if your goal is to have someone doing administrative, transactional, tactical tasks. There is no shame if you are in the latter category, but it's very misleading to candidates who are looking for the former. To hire well, transparency is key. Say what you really want and find someone keen to do that job! Not every HR job is built the same. Know your unique scenario and describe it as such.
