As a Talent specialist we get so used to welcoming people to our teams, celebrating work anniversaries of others, and managing disappointment when it is time for those in our company to move on and explore other opportunities, that we sometimes forget our own milestones and miss an opportunity to reflect on them. This April marks my 7-year anniversary with Prescient, and what a journey it has been. I am humbled and happy to work with the amazing people that I do. One of our leaders recently shared an article which spoke about the concept of 𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑜𝑤𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝 and just how powerful that can be. It refers to a deep commitment and connection to the organisation, a psychological ownership, beyond just a financial investment. This is a concept I am keen to explore further as I am sure there is much written about this in organisational psychology research, however for now what stood out for me is the impact this has on 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧t and 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 and specifically my emotional engagement. At Prescient we have such a powerful purpose, such a strong strategic vision and plan and such a strong sense of alignment through our shared values that I know this is the right place to be. I know it is a journey, and there is much to accomplish, but for now I will take some time out and reflect on the past 7 years - the steps we have taken to move forward, the comfort in the consistency of what keeps us connected - and take some baby steps at planning the next 7. #organisationalpsychology #employeeengagement #milestones #purpose

Many businesses celebrate employee appreciation, and one of my favorite traditions was sending handwritten notes to my team ✍️. Those heartfelt messages have left a lasting impact, and I still revisit the ones I've received when I need a boost of inspiration 💌. But as a "solo-preneur," there isn’t a designated day to celebrate our efforts. Often, the only one cheering me on is me 🎉. So today, I made a sign to commemorate a milestone—five sales 🛠️. A little dorky, yes. It might not seem like much, but I know the journey it represents, full of ups, downs, curves, and detours 🛣️. The secret to staying motivated is simple: find something to celebrate EVERY DAY, even if it's just making it through and living to fight another day 💪. When the going gets tough, take a moment to list all you've accomplished and how far you've come 📝. Or, create a sign that reminds you: YOU ARE AMAZING! 🌟 Celebrate the small victories, because they’re the stepping stones to the big ones 🏆.

There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person." - Fred Rogers It got me thinking ... March 1st is Employee Appreciation Day. Day. Just one day. Why are we only setting aside one day to the dedicated the individuals whose importance is beyond profound? That just doesn't sit right with me.
