The University of North Texas College of Business and partnering College of Engineering has received a substantial grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support cutting-edge research and innovation in engine design and technology. The aim of this grant is to facilitate groundbreaking research addressing critical challenges in engine efficiency, emissions reduction, and overall performance. Projects awarded are contributing to the development of next-generation engines that are more fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly, and technologically advanced. By supporting research in this field, the NSF is fostering advancements that will profoundly impact transportation, energy production, and environmental sustainability.
The Vision: To transform logistics and supply chain management through the development of world-class innovation and establishing the region as the global logistics innovation, practice and workforce development.
Dr. Terry Pohlen presented updates on the development of a logistics innovation ecosystem for the North Texas region at the Dallas Inland Port Symposium, hosted at Dallas College—Cedar Valley on Friday, April 19th. Members of the Engines team, along with four UNT students, participated in the event, alongside regional government officials and logistics professionals.
In the past two weeks, five new organizations have joined the Engine as key stakeholders. These include the Center for Advancing Innovation, the National Security Innovation Council, America’s Future Series, Interface Ventures, and The Startup Runway. With these additions, the number of stakeholders involved with the Engine has reached 61, representing government, universities, corporations, risk capital, and entrepreneurs.
Looking ahead, the Engine is planning an investor forum for late Summer in collaboration with the Center for Advancing Innovation. This forum will bring together entrepreneurs, potential investors, corporations, and government agencies to focus on identifying critical supply chain innovations and advancing them for commercialization.
You're invited to be a part of revolutionizing the logistics industry. Whether you're a government official, logistics professional, entrepreneur, or investor, your expertise and collaboration are essential. Together, we can drive meaningful change and propel groundbreaking innovations forward.
Stay tuned for more updates about this project and the transformation that is being led by thought leaders in the world of Logistics and the Texoma Region.
