As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on a year marked by innovation and inquiry. We take pride in our collective efforts as planners and designers to challenge the brief and celebrate our advocacy - alongside our clients, peers and collaborators - to strive for sustainable, equitable and meaningful outcomes that make a positive contribution to the environment and the communities they support. While this year we were saddened at the loss of three members of the Tract family, it has offered us a time to come together, to acknowledge the dedication and humility they each brought to their work, the depth of talent we are privileged to have worked alongside, and the profound legacy they leave behind. Our passionate belief in shaping places for the better has never been more resolute, against the backdrop of both enormous challenges and opportunity. With collaboration at the heart of our approach, we thank everyone that has played a part in Tract’s journey over the past year, and look forward to continuing to create projects and places with impact together in 2025. We wish you a safe and restorative festive season.

01.01.2025: Enfection HQ At Enfection, the first morning of the year is a special one. It’s not just about goals or numbers—it’s about people and culture, the true backbone of everything we do. This morning, we continued a cherished tradition: the Enfector’s Breakfast. It starts with the lighting of the oil lamp—a deeply Sri Lankan custom symbolizing hope, wisdom, and new beginnings. But what makes it uniquely Enfection is who gets to light it first: not the seniors or leaders, but the newest enfectors. It's a small but powerful reminder that fresh perspectives and new energy is what keep us moving forward. Afterwards, we come together for a potluck breakfast, with almost every team member contributing a dish from their home. It’s a beautiful mix of flavours, stories, and connections—just like Enfection itself. My New Year wish as a CEO? It’s not about boasting about numbers or market share (though those are important at certain forums). It’s about keeping our culture strong. It’s about ensuring every voice here matters, every idea has a chance to shine, and every Enfector feels at home. Here’s to a 2025 where culture remains our compass and our people remain our greatest strength. #enfectors #newyear #2025

Rise and Shine! Raleigh area Coffee with Leaders hosted by the Raleigh Chamber was such an incredible event yesterday morning. I was able to share more of my story and introduce ways to be inspired by nature in growing and analyzing the health of your business and ecosystem. Here were some of the takeaways that resonated with the more than 60 area leaders who joined: 1. Ecosystems and systems-thinking inspired by nature to fuel business health and growth. 2. #coexisting in a space where #holistic health + living boldly can coexist structurally. 3. For those structural engineers in the audience - a correlation of keystone species in an ecosystem with the keystone in a structural arch to all business leaders identifying the keystones in your business! 4. Be a beaver. Strategically working to impact and engineer their ecosystem! 5. Driving Population Health as a community priority is possible on all projects, thanks to a tool @Perkins&Will launched entitled Precede. 6. Design your career - intentionality plus setting goals 7. Invest in an annual solo ‘MEtreat’ to focus on goal setting towards your Life’s Work! 8. Celebrate Milestones There was the buzz that carried folks into their day with a charge to ‘BEE the Change!’ Let’s keep focused on bringing more life and vitality to our community. Today marks the anniversary of when Antonio Lanotte joined the #Vernewell advisory board, a journey that echoes the very essence of innovation: challenging yet immensely rewarding. Reflecting on our journey, I'm reminded of the unpredictable path of technological advancements, which is rarely straight and often strewn with challenges. It demands #resilience and #adaptability, qualities that Antonio has brought. His expertise in digital transformation, circular economy, and digital assets has been invaluable. One of our most notable collaborations was the policy consultancy for a #governmental # #Financialinstitution in the region/I can't reveal more. This project, while immensely satisfying, came with its own set of challenges, primarily the tight deadlines set by Antonio. It was a painful yet thrilling ride, pushing us to our limits and beyond, ensuring that we deliver nothing short of excellence. As we celebrate this milestone, I look forward to many more projects where we can drive change and innovation together. Here's to more challenges, more innovations, and continued success in our journey ahead! #Christmas hasn’t come early; the photo was taken in #Rome during the festive season 😅 #Vernewell #Innovation #DigitalTransformation #CircularEconomy #DigitalAssets #Teamwork #Anniversary

2 weeks ago, JMARK had its annual Holiday Party. While the celebrations and connections were great, what stood out was something that our Product Manager, Howard Trumbull, said: "Thank you to everyone who trusted us enough to let us know when we needed to do better." One of the most important elements of a company’s culture is its willingness to have what we call ‘Courageous Conversations.’ But to do that, you first need to create the environment and psychological safety for your team to feel comfortable to engage with discomfort. It’s not only something we practice internally, but with our clients, too. In fact, it’s largely the reason we were able to mend our relationship with a crucial client in the healthcare industry 2 years ago. All this is to say: ✅ Love the Truth, even when you don’t like it. ✅ Own your mistakes and outline your next step. ✅ Do what you say you’ll do when you say you’ll do it. ✅ Lead with compassion and empathy in your pursuit of accountability. — When our team feels safe enough to be unapologetically honest, we all grow stronger together. It gives us the courage to face hard truths, make things right, and become better—for our people, our clients, and ourselves.
