🌿 Internal Meeting on the CONE Project at Municipality of Poljčane 🌿 Earlier this week the Municipality of Poljčane hosted a first core team meeting dedicated to the Interreg CE CONE project. The meeting brought together Mayor dr. Petra Vrhovnik, municipal employees, and external experts to discuss key aspects of the project: 🔹 Nature-Based Solutions (NBS): We explored potential NBS solutions to be implemented in Poljčane, aiming to improved management of river embankments. 🔹 Site Analysis: A thorough site analysis will be conducted before implementing NBS to ensure the best possible outcomes. 🔹 Living Lab Approach: We discussed the Living Lab process, which will engage the community in co-creating and testing the most effective NBS solutions. 🔹 Stakeholder Engagement: Identifying key stakeholders who will play a crucial role in the project’s success. 🔈Hi LinkedIners! I still have more to share about my participation on #AAORIAForum2024 from the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance in October 2024. As an #ECOP, despite being highly envolved on the conference, we had our own side event, named Intergeracional Dialogue. My visionary group members Tristan da Silva e Ornelas, Gary Kett Milena Ferreira, Blessing Charuka, PhD and me, have been coached by Martin Zimmer (he/him) and we worked on the priority area #Coastal_Resilience. One interesting thing I realized is that, our thoughts were all connected to facilitate community engagement and connections across the Atlantic communities! That's why we came up with an ideia and presented the #All_Atlantic_community_voices, a platform to connect coastal communities around Atlantic Ocean, that can give local communities space to share their needs, issues and also the best practices and solutions that have been implemented at local level, as well as, some solutions that other communities may be looking for! read more about the policy briefs here👇https://lnkd.in/eirwtfbi ❓ What do you thing about this ideia❓

Reflections on the NICOLA 2024 conference: 1. The NICOLA team did an incredible job with the organization of this conference. #Kudos to all of you who helped to make this a success. 2. A special thanks to Rochelle Bloemhof for helping us with our conference registration logistics. You are an absolute superstar ✨️ 3. Nature-based remediation of contaminated land is a very *hot topic*. Both clients and regulators are appreciative of the powers of engineered remediation systems, but they'd like to see more sustainable, nature-based, and cost-effective solutions to managing environmental liabilities. The network I've managed to build whilst working in South Africa for the past ten years is astounding. My passion for technical assessments, client satisfaction, and nature-based solutions has enabled me to grow my network and have incredibly positive and meaningful discussions with stakeholders. I aspire to make a name for myself with the industry in the US when I return to my homeland. 5. Despite my impending departure from South Africa, I know I'll continue to build relationships with my network here, as well as other South African stakeholders. My time here may be coming to an end, but my presence in the industry here will continue to grow 🌿

🇧🇪 From 12-14 November, more than 250 policymakers, researchers and practitioners gathered in Brussels for the European Mission Soil Week 2024 to network, share knowledge and align priority efforts toward achieving the objectives of the EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe”. 🌱 Trust-IT Services representatives were on-site to promote the activities of SOILL, a cornerstone initiative supporting the development of 100 Soil Health Living Labs, or research innovation ecosystems, by 2030. As the project's communications and outreach partner, Trust-IT Services members played an active role throughout the week, specifically: 👉 Helping organise the Living Lab Ceremony, which acknowledged the activities and experts responsible for the first 25 Mission Soil Living Labs 👉 Coordinating the SOILL-Startup Annual Engagement Event on 11 Nov, which enhanced community empowerment between representatives from the 25 Living Labs, policymakers and Mission Soil week coordinators 👉 Distributing SOILL-Startup plantable project cards and exhibiting the initiative at a project-specific booth 🌍 Explore more behind the scenes of how Trust-IT Services is helping address Europe’s soil health challenges, not only by supporting SOILL, but through similar projects like PREPSOIL - Preparing for the "Soil Deal for Europe" Mission and NATI00NS as well: https://lnkd.in/ebsbHykZ
