Have you ever felt like God was asking you to do something that defied all logic—expecially the advice from others and yourself?
In the spring of 2022, I opened a letter that would change everything—my knees buckled as I realized what it meant.
My husband and I were at a tough point: our marriage, money, and work were hanging on by a thread.
My husband, a veteran who had served two tours in Afghanistan, could no longer work.
Money was tight, but he felt led by God to apply for a VA disability increase—and stopped working while waiting.
At the same time, my business was in a slow season, and income was low.
Even though I was terrified, we trusted God to provide.
As a financial coach, I could NOT make the numbers work. The money wasn't there.
When I asked God if I should get a part-time job (something I’d recommend to a client), the Holy Spirit said, "Wait. Trust Me."
Every part of me wanted to get a job, but I knew it would mean disobeying God. So, I trusted Him.
And what He did was spectacular.
He provided in the most unexpected ways:
🍴Reminding me of an old silverware set I’d forgotten about that sold for what we needed that month
📜A life insurance policy my estranged dad had signed over to me
💌And that letter: a check in the mail from North Carolina, a state we hadn’t lived in for TEN years!
For four scary months, God provided. Each miracle was enough to cover us completely, just like how Jesus multiplied the loaves and fish.
That season wasn’t just about provision—it transformed my faith.
I had said I trusted God, but my stress and anxiety told a different story. My logic and emotions werent' aligned.
Through this time of relying on Him for "daily bread," I learned to surrender my fears, finances, marriage, and control, and in return, He gave me peace beyond understanding.
Now, when things feel tight or scary, I remember how God provided in ways no job could have.
Sometimes God asks you to trust Him in crazy ways, so He can show you who He really is.
When my husband’s VA increase was approved, it was 100%, providing exactly what we needed so he could use his time to serve the Lord.
How about you?
Do you feel led to learn to be a good steward of your finances, but there's something holding you back?
If you're ready to manage your money with confidence and grow your bank account, but you're nervous about the investment, I ask you:
Will you trust Him to provide for you?
Because He has for dozens of my clients, and He will for you, too.
When was the last time you went against what everyone said—and it turned out great?
I'd love to know! Drop your answer in the comments.
