Our focus in creating #accessible and #inclusive #learning should not be helping individuals “fix” themselves and overcome their disabilities, but to eliminate unnecessary barriers so that the learning program is usable by as many people as possible. This entails a shift from the medical-deficit model of disability to the social model of #disability. You can see from the Preface to the #UDL 2.0 that CAST has navigated that paradigm shift in the evolution of their Universal Design for Learning guidelines, and you can too. Check out my latest article about this shift and five opportunities to make your professional development portfolio inclusive. https://lnkd.in/gyH_jp24 In other news, CAST is preparing to release UDL 3.0 - you can keep tabs on the launch here: https://lnkd.in/gxk8q-iJ #inclusiveCE #inclusivelearning #learningdesign #neurodivergence #DEIAB
