During the Covid-19 pandemic, travel was restricted and physical distancing measures were put in place. AHK Indonesia (EKONID) were not immune to the impact. However, in line with our commitment to support bilateral business between Indonesia and Germany, EKONID continued to conduct business delegations and trade missions – assisted by advances in digital technology. That said, no amount of online interactions can truly replace face-to-face meetings (at least not yet). Two years after the pandemic, after travel restrictions and physical distancing measures were lifted, EKONID again returned to the format of physical business delegation visits and trade missions in promoting business relations between our two nations. 🏗️ Enhancing Localities' Role in Developing Supporting Industries 🚀 Several localities with strong potential for supporting industries have proactively introduced policies to boost businesses, focusing on training human resources and accessing global production chains. 🌐 📌 At the seminar "Creating Attraction for Supporting Industries: The Role of Localities" (August 29), Pham Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry, highlighted the Government's support and preferential policies. These policies, like Decree 111/2015/ND-CP and Decision 68/QD-TTg, have helped integrate supporting industries into the supply chain, increasing autonomy in sectors like textiles, garments, and mechanical engineering. 🛠️ Localities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and Hai Phong have tailored their own policies to nurture supporting industries. For instance, Ho Chi Minh City recently implemented an interest rate support policy for priority investment projects, encouraging local development. 🚗 Toyota Vietnam reported significant improvement in Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises, both in quality and quantity.
