🎓 Day 2 of Learning at Work Week! Today we wanted to share our #employeerecognition infographic. It's important to remember that our employees are all individuals. Some will love the limelight of formal award ceremonies and employee of the month celebrations. Other, more introverted colleagues might just prefer a quiet well done or personalised thank you note. ❓How do you want to be recognised? Don't forget, you can find hundreds more resources like this one on our 𝗣𝗮𝘆 & 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆! #learningatworkweek #employeerecognition #humanresources #employeedevelopment

Emeritus Professor of Applied Behavioral Science, Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business, Organizational Development Consultant
From the OD consultant’s tool chest: One of the responses I received re: my Trader’s Joe’s post asked, “how does TJs embed culture as it continues to open stores and enter new regions?” As new sites are identified, selected store managers and crew members are asked to relocate to these locations to instill the TJ model such that new hires grasp the organization’s values, which allows the culture to take root. In addition, a well-designed selection and on-boarding process solidifies the TJ framework that allows the culture to flourish.

79% of employees who quit their jobs cite a lack of appreciation as a key reason for leaving (Workplace Recognition Survey by O.C. Tanner). When building the Solis Academy - our digital learning platform - for rookie recruiters, it was incredibly important to recognise those with a growth mindset. The Solis Academy has 6 courses, all with individual recruitment and personal development modules. It's designed to support rookies throughout their first 6 months in recruitment. And for each course they finish, they become Solis Certified in that course. We've invested in a product and process that helps employee retention and increases speed to competency. And we've introduced certificates to recognise those prioritising their professional development.

Do EAs really need appreciation? The answer is a resounding 'Yes'. EAs are more than intermediaries applying their heart and soul in the organization through their dedication which often is unrecognized. Yet, they maintain calm and self-motivation despite stress. Recognizing their efforts is crucial for their motivation, improving their performance and career satisfaction. During the recent IAA week, we requested feedback from managers of nominated Executive Assistants (EAs). The responses were overwhelmingly positive, revealing that while many EAs feel unappreciated, their managers highly value their contributions. This feedback underscores the strong work ethic and motivational boost for the EAs. This is manager's appreciation for Pooja Aggarwal from her Executive Ms. Kavita Kurup (We would like to extend our gratitude for taking time out of your busy schedules to acknowledge her). This truly demonstrates the organization's commitment to employee growth and empowerment, fostering a supportive and appreciative work environment.
