PancakeSwap has 3 times the users Uniswap has. But Uniswap is still the biggest DEX in the market. Here’s why: As of October 2023, the number of traders on the DEXs were: 🦄 Uniswap – 12 million cumulative traders 🥞 PancakeSwap – 31 million cumulative traders That’s nearly 3 times more traders on Pancake than Uni. Does this mean Pancake is a bigger DEX than Uni? Nope. That’s only the headline numbers. Let’s dig in a little more. While PancakeSwap has a larger cohort of traders, these traders are NOT active on a frequent basis. 🗓️ Monthly active traders: Uniswap – 1.1 million | Annual change – 🔺 75% PancakeSwap – 1.07 million | Annual change – 🔻 31% 🗓️ Weekly active traders: Uniswap – 473k | Annual change – 🔺 60% PancakeSwap – 434k | Annual change – 🔻 26% 🗓️ Daily active traders: Uniswap – 100k | Annual change – 🔺 53% PancakeSwap – 114k | Annual change – 🔻 29% Not only is the difference between the active traders on Uniswap versus PancakeSwap shrinking, but Uniswap’s trader cohort is increasing annually. But it’s not just the number of traders that are increasing, it’s also the trade size that’s increasing. Uniswap has a monthly trading volume of $42 billion to PancakeSwap’s $26 billion.
