The passed AI Act brings trust, reliability, transparency and ethical behaviour among others to customers that are affected by #AI based decisions. Though it limits the possibilities from a developer's perspective that loves to try SOTA algorithms, it is important to make the best out of the current framework. Great to see us among the frontrunners in its implementation and supporting others as part of the EU AI Pact. #aiact #aipact #ethicalai #trustworthyai #airegulation
EnBW joins EU AI Pact ⚖ 🤝 Today, Josua S. and I had the honor of attending the kickoff ceremony of the EU AI Pact and signing the pledges on behalf of EnBW. By taking this step, EnBW is proud to be recognized as one of the frontrunner organizations showcasing best practices in implementing the AI Act’s requirements. We are committed to contributing to the broader community with our activities and experiences, driving forward the responsible and transparent use of AI. Today marks a historic moment as the EU AI Act officially comes into force, ushering in a new era of AI regulation. I'm thrilled to have contributed to an insightful BDO UK LLP article by our Data Protection team on this landmark legislation. TL;DR Some highlights: 🔍 Definition: The Act defines: ..“AI system” - “a machine-based system designed to operate with varying levels of autonomy and that may exhibit adaptiveness after deployment and that, for explicit or implicit objectives, infers, from the input it receives, how to generate outputs such as predictions, content, recommendations, or decisions that can influence physical or virtual environments”. 🛠️ Roles: It outlines specific responsibilities for various stakeholders in the AI ecosystem, including deployers, importers, distributors, providers, and operators. 🌍 Scope: The Act applies to all providers, deployers, importers, distributors, and manufacturers connected to the EU market. This includes organizations outside the EU if their AI outputs are used within the EU. ⚖️ Risk-Based Approach: Categorizes AI systems into unacceptable, high, and limited risk, with specific prohibitions and requirements for high-risk systems. I encourage everyone in the AI and tech communities to read the full article and join the conversation about how we can collectively navigate this new regulatory landscape. #AI #AIACT #TechPolicy #Innovation #ResponsibleAI #ArtificialIntelligence #GPAI #FoundationModels Christopher Beveridge, FCA, MAAT, CIPP-E Aleksandre Megrelishvili CIPP/E CIPM Ana Tchaia

“Not everything is a nail” #theAIHammer AI is a powerful tool, but it’s not the answer to everything. Sometimes, the best solutions are simple ones, and that’s okay! Let’s use AI where it truly shines and embrace other tools when they’re the right fit. After all, it’s about finding the best way forward, not just the most high-tech. #AI #Data #AILiteracy #DataLiteracy #ProblemFirst #LovetheProblem
When it comes to technology, using AI without a thoughtful approach is like trying to solve every problem with a hammer. 🛠️ At OBF, Isabel Barroso-Gomez, Chief Data Officer at Santander Nordics, showed us how Nordic countries are leading the charge in responsible AI, proving that we don’t need to use a hammer for everything. Thank you, Isabel, for reminding us that responsible AI requires the right tools—and the wisdom to know when to use them.

AISG is convening a series of roundtables for representatives from industry, government, and academia to discuss responsible AI. Such discussions are typically too narrow and too broad. Too narrow in that a few voices dominate the discussion – notably those in the United States and Europe, with China sometimes included. Too broad in that discussion is often limited to generalities and principles. This project aims to address both aspects of this problem, involving a wider set of stakeholders — in particular those from Southeast Asia — in more focused discussions of specific challenges in the application of Responsible AI to particular questions. Our first report, on relative responsibility of developers and deployers of AI systems, is online now. Enjoy! https://lnkd.in/gCKMKeH9
