I’m not going to name any names, but… Why are businesses still advertising jobs using their internal jargon? Hardly anyone knows what you are talking about! If you want to attract Product Controllers or Valuation Controllers, a good place to start is a job title that includes “Product Control” or “Valuation Control”. Don’t leave it to chance that someone wades through 500 words of your job spec to find monthly IPV, or daily p&l buried in the bullet points. If you want a VP, use “VP” or “Vice President” in the job title. Opaque internal terms (I’m looking at you, “Lead Analyst”) make it harder for applicants to figure out what’s going on. More chance of attracting people at the wrong level. More chance people at the right level are not applying. Are you looking for a job in product control, or valuation control and struggling to understand what level a role is/might pay?
