It’s amazing to see how #TRICS has grown in the UK over the past 35 years, becoming a key tool for transport planners and local/state authorities, providing valuable national trip-generation data. Now, Australia is about to take a big leap forward with the development of #TRIPS (Trip Rate Information Processing System)—our very own national database for land-use-based trip and parking survey data. #TRIPS will empower transport planners, engineers, and policymakers with the tools they need to make data-driven, evidence-based decisions. In the news today: SeaTwirl is going to be supported by the French SME Zelin to solve the innovation challenge posed in the framework of ELBE EUROCLUSTER, which has awarded a grant of EUR 60,000 to the SME. ELBE EUROCLUSTER is working to promote European Collaboration in the fields of innovation, internationalization, networking, and training. To encourage this collaboration between countries, ELBE EUROCLUSTER, which has received funding from EISMEA's COSME Programme, launches open calls supported by Cascade Funding that aims at supporting European SMEs in the development of their resilience and green and digital transition. #SeaTwirl participated in one of these open calls as Challenge Owner in which it presented the challenge to further develop a controller for floating vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT). Recently, SeaTwirl's challenge has been awarded by EUROCLUSTER ELBE to the project proposed by Zelin entitled "ACTION - Advanced Controlled Turbines Implementation to Optimize the use of Natural resources". The development of the controller will be a close collaboration between SeaTwirl, and the awarded company Zelin, which has a 60.000 EUR grant for it, over the next year. 🚀 nph rolls out Strategic Planning for network redesign in Germany! 🚍 I'm happy to share that the public transportation authority of Paderborn and Höxter in Germany (Nahverkehrsverbund Paderborn/Höxter - nph), will be one of the first PTAs worldwide to roll out Optibus' new "Strategic Planning" solution, which was released last week! 🎉 Part of the Westphalia tariff (Westfalen-Tarif) network, nph will use Strategic Planning and its machine learning tools, including Demand Optimization and Impact Analysis, to improve planning processes and redesign services across their 2,100 km bus route network in the districts of Paderborn and Höxter. Marcus Klugmann, Managing Director of nph, says: "With Optibus' Strategic Planning product, we can analyze passenger numbers more efficiently and incorporate them into our planning processes." nph’s implementation of Optibus also aims to boost collaboration and communication with two neighboring PTAs - Kommunale Verkehrsgesellschaft Lippe (KVG Lippe) and Stadtverkehr Detmold (SV Detmold) - creating a coordinated effort to improve mobility and optimize resources.
