A council is continuing to back a project to build a solar farm in Coventry, even though plans have been rejected by councillors. Coventry City Council and energy company E.ON are still exploring options for the scheme at Lenton’s Lane, Longford, state council papers. https://lnkd.in/edH4kSWr

We recently had the honour of showing senior political figures our journey to deliver the Uskmouth Sustainable Energy Park and one of the largest battery storage sites in the UK, and we have produced a video to showcase it. Why is this so important? As the Times highlighted, with wind energy breaking output records, there is a need for a substantial increase in battery storage to help manage the volatility on the system. https://lnkd.in/dG2kXVdb https://lnkd.in/dhA3viA5

Renewables + Utility = the new ”Energy Powerhouse” - I’m proud to announce that I am now part of the Better Energy team! In this next phase of the green transition, the relationship between production and consumption will be of crucial importance. The challenge will be to help companies optimise their consumption profile: For the sake of both price and the environment. Flexibility will become key whether you produce or consume. Those who can navigate it wisely – that is, use flexibility to consume when there is most green power in the electricity grid and thus is cheapest – will be able to reap substantial economic benefits. At the same time they can contribute positively to balancing an energy system based primarily on renewable energy and do the right thing for the environment. Better Energy is ready to take our share of the responsibility as producers – among other things by getting closer to our customers. We are accelerating getting into this next phase by adding lot more renewable power to our markets in Europe – to our existing customers and welcoming many new customers. Looking forward to make a difference with you: Peter Munck Søe-Jensen Viggo Aavang Thor Möger Pedersen Rasmus Lildholdt Kjær Link to article i todays JP Finans https://lnkd.in/d48ZKJB4

We have just completed this immense installation at Hammerstone Road, Manchester. The complete refurbishment of Manchester City Council’s waste disposal and maintenance depot located at the old Gorton Foundry site on Hammerstone Road in Gorton, Manchester, which was once occupied by railway manufacturers Beyer and Peacock who manufactured nearly 8,000 railway locomotives here from 1854 to 1966. Over 2190 SolarPV Panels (420w) have been incorporated into the design to minimise carbon emissions related to building processes and vehicle charging. To augment this strategy a battery storage solution has been proposed to store renewable energy generated by the PV during peak periods, thus maximising carbon reduction and minimising the technologies payback period. This project was delivered in partnership with Morgan Sindall Construction, and marks another successful collaboration between our two companies. Navitas delivered this 920.6kWp extensive SolarPV installation safely and on-time. Our electric vehicle is charged up and ready to roll into Michigan! Join us as we cruise into the heart of the Great Lakes, where powerful winds power up the Midwest. Our next project spotlight takes us to the Noble Thumb I Windfarm, a shining example of how KWRE team members are leading the charge for renewable energy in the Midwest. This 46-turbine project generates 69 megawatts of clean wind power—enough to keep the lights on for 23,000 homes—while working in perfect harmony with the local farmland. Here’s where things get even better: Farmers continue to work their land while earning lease payments from the turbines, creating a perfect harmony between energy and agriculture! KWRE team members didn’t just drop turbines into Michigan’s landscape; they designed the project to tackle the region’s unique weather conditions. With freezing temps and the constant threat of snow, the team accounted for frost depth by burying electrical cabling deep enough and customized everything to handle those bone-chilling temperatures. The Great Lakes winds make wind power the perfect solution here, especially in a region where solar struggles against snowy winters and cloudy skies. The Noble Thumb I Windfarm shows our team’s dedication to building renewable energy solutions that work not just with the environment but with the people who live and farm here. Next stop—Southeast! Tune up your fiddle and hold onto your gumbo as our Clean Energy Week Road Trip continues. #CleanEnergyWeek #BuildingCleanerFuture #KWRE #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #CleanEnergyJourney #KWRERoadtrip #SustainabilityOnTheRoad #EnergyRoadtrip #DiscoverCleanEnergy #RoadtripAcrossAmerica #ExploreRenewables #GreenInnovation #FutureOfEnergy #SustainableSolutions #EnergyTransformation #CleanEnergyRevolution #TravelGreen #CarbonFootprintImpact #JobsInRenewables #GridReliability #SolarPower #WindEnergy #BatteryStorage #HydrogenProjects #RenewableDevelopment #CleanEnergyFuture #HavingFunWithRenewableEnergy #MidwestRegion #Michigan #WindFarm #WildestRideInTheWilderness

Saint Meinrad Archabbey in rural Indiana has taken significant steps to reduce energy costs and consumption in pursuit of self-sufficiency and reducing negative impacts on the earth. In partnership with Energy Service Company Veregy and financer D.A. Davidson Companies, they're beginning phase two of a Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contract (GESPC). Upon completion, Saint Meinrad will generate enough on-site electricity to reduce purchased electricity by 59% and natural gas consumption by 32%. Phase two financing will close and be funded today on Earth Day, underscoring Saint Meinrad's commitment to combatting climate change, promoting environmental stewardship, and creating a more sustainable future for generations to come. #earthday #sustainability #renewableenergy #energyefficiency https://lnkd.in/gVzWwkDe

Greensburg: From Tragedy to Clean Energy Leadership On May 4, 2007, a devastating tornado struck Greensburg, Kansas, destroying most of the town. While some homes on the outskirts were salvageable, the town's core was left in ruins. Amidst the debris, the 1,400 residents faced the daunting task of rebuilding their lives and community. Rather than simply restore what was lost, Greensburg chose to reinvent itself as a pioneer in clean energy. With guidance from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), a division of the Department of Energy, residents and businesses learned about the long-term savings of energy-efficient upgrades like heat pumps, solar panels, and efficient windows. Many took this advice to heart, focusing on energy efficiency and tornado-resistant construction. Today, Greensburg is a model of sustainability: Wind Energy: Ten wind turbines generate 100% of the town's electricity. Solar Power: Numerous buildings are equipped with solar panels. LED Lighting: The town installed LED streetlights, a cutting-edge technology at the time that is now widespread. Greensburg’s story is a testament to resilience and innovation, turning a disaster into an opportunity for sustainable growth and energy independence.
