Hockey Vs Basketball | Which Is Best for You? Hockey is played on ice with players using sticks to hit the puck, while basketball is played on a court with players shooting a ball into a hoop. Hockey is known for its physicality and contact. Players often engage in body-checking to gain possession of the puck or disrupt the opposing team’s play. The physical aspect of hockey adds excitement and intensity to the game, but it also increases the risk of injuries #Hockey #Basketball #HockeyVsBasketball #differencebetweenHockeyandBasketball https://lnkd.in/gdSX2y4h

#EuropeVSNHL: Why Switzerland and Sweden are comparable to the NHL's top 5 Tonight, the Edmonton Oilers will play Game 4 of the #2024StanleyCupFinal, and a loss will extend Canada's winless streak to 32 years. The superstitious will call it a curse, and financiers specializing in professional hockey (we're talking about me) will call it a logical outcome. The #Alberta #EdmontonOilers and #CalgaryFlames take-home pay for the 2023-24 season was $79,902,403 versus #Florida State's $92,994,207. And that extra $13 million makes the difference—Florida teams have made the #StanleyCup finals for five seasons in a row and are likely to take home their third trophy in five years this year. #SwitzerlandvsAlberta Take-home pay $: 83,358,321 vs 82,910,824 Population millions: 8.77 vs 4.36 GDP 2024 Billions $: 870 vs 277 Largest arena: 17,031 vs 19,289 By the way, the total Take-home pay for the province of Alberta, including the Calgary Wranglers team, in the 2023/24 season was $82,910,824 - the sixth highest among states and provinces with #NHL teams. According to this indicator, Alberta also surpasses Switzerland. Take-home pay in the 2023/24 season in the National League was $69,248,233, and if you add $14,110,088 Take-home pay in the Swiss League we get $83,358,321. In the 23/24 season, the Swiss Genève-Servette Hockey Club won the #ChampionsHockeyLeague, making it the strongest team in Europe. This is Switzerland's second club trophy after the ZSC Lions won the #CHL in 2009. #SwedenvsPennsylvania Take-home pay $: 92,929,815 vs 96,579,997 Population million: 10.49 vs 12.97 GDP 2024 billions $: 591.2 vs 965.067 Largest arena: 13,850 vs 19,538 Pennsylvania is represented in the NHL by two successful franchises: the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers, who brought the state seven Stanley Cups. In the 2023/24 season, the total Take-home pay was 82,751,491. To this cost should be added the 14,827,506 net salary of the AHL teams Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, and the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Thus, the net salary of the six teams in Pennsylvania in the 2023/24 season was $96,579,997 Among European countries, Sweden can be compared with Pennsylvania. With a smaller population and GDP, the country spends about the same amount on Take-home pay as Pennsylvania. Since 2006, Swedish teams have won the #EuropeanTrophy and Champions Hockey League ten times. At the same time, the Svenska Hockeyligan AB is one of the strongest in the world, and its annual take-home pay is approximately €64,750,000. In the case of Sweden, where a transitional championship system operates, it is necessary to mention HockeyAllsvenskan. Take-home pay in it is approximately €16,625,000. According to my calculations, the Take-home pay in the Hockeyettan AB for the 2023/24 season was €5,147,399, which collectively makes Sweden almost equal to Pennsylvania in terms of net income for players of all three tiers, with a total cost of approximately $93 mln.

#EuropeVSNHL: Why is Austria a European ice hockey top-8 When comparing hockey in Europe and the NHL, many people think it is much more prevalent in North America than in Europe. Of course, hockey is a top sport in Canada. However, only five Canadian provinces are represented in the NHL, and the remaining teams are in the United States. And when you need to list the US states in which hockey is the primary sport, a completely different perspective opens up for discussion. #AustriaVSOhio Take-home pay $: <15,000,000 vs 38,615,079 Population millions: 9.04 vs 11.76 GDP 2024 Billions $: 470.9 vs 830.6 Largest arena: 16,000 vs 18,144 Austria has made confident steps in hockey development over the past ten years. Creating the international ICE Hockey League with eight teams from Austria brought professional hockey in this country to a new level. And with the seven AlpsHL teams, Austria's Take-home pay for the 2023/24 season was just under $15 million, corresponding to the CBJ Take-home pay for the 2007/08 season, which was $13,025,499. The strength of Austrian hockey is the Red Bull Academy, where future players of Red Bull Salzburg and Munich are trained. The highest achievements at the club level are Red Bull Salzburg winning the 2010 European Cup, VEU Feldkirch winning in 1998 European Hockey League, and the EC KAC final in 1969 IIHF European Cup. Speaking of infrastructure, it is worth noting that in 2005, Austria hosted the World Championship for the seventh time in history at the 16 thousandth Wiener Stadthalle. Ohio is the NHL region comparable to Austria in terms of population, GDP and hockey infrastructure. The only caveat is that Ohio has broken away from Austria regarding net income growth by over 15 years. Ohio is represented in the NHL by the Columbus Blue Jackets, founded in 2000. Over the 24 years, the franchise could not win the Stanley Cup and did not win either a conference or a division. This is mainly due to the financial indicator - in the 2023/24 season, CBJ did not reach the salary upstairs limit, and the Blue Jackets take-home pay was $38,615,079
