We applaud the U.S. Surgeon General's Office for issuing a first-of-its-kind advisory declaring firearm violence in America as a public health crisis. As the advisory concludes, it will take the collective commitment of the nation to turn the tide on this crisis. A public health approach has the potential to curb the alarming trends of firearm-related injury and death that we see in Colorado and across the country, which have devastating impacts to our physical and mental health. As we continue to champion a public health approach to firearm harm prevention in Colorado, Trailhead is excited to use our program office as a hub for building collaboration across the state and working alongside communities to enact solutions that work best for them.
