🤩 Wow, what a fantastic ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review from one of our members recently on: A Welsh Holiday - Testing Communication Between Teams. 🤩 "A brilliant game to consolidate the learning of the day. Now I have used it I also think it could be used at any point. Tones and laughter from the group and loads of points to draw out and explore in terms of behaviors, communications etc. The group didn't quite get the right answer but they did find a spot to meet at, well ish lol. I ran this course for an American sales audience who just loved it. Pronouncing the places was tricky but we got through it. If your going to use this activity multiple times you might want to ask the group not to draw on the maps as they can be pricey to keep purchasing and they are inclined to want to draw out the route. I grabbed a poly pocket for them to draw on with marker which helped and have laminated some sheets to use next time. Having the rooms close to each other is also helpful so you can observe the 2 dynamics at play as it was fascinating to see how the sperate groups took to the task, loads to unpack but you do need to float between them as I had multiple big personalities wanting to drive the outcomes so be at hand when needed. They loved it, and so did I, so much opportunity and learning and finish my day with them on a high with key take aways." 👉 https://lnkd.in/eZ3fet9z 💡 If you're a Trainers' Library member and have any feedback on any of our materials don't forget to review them as you'll be entered into the quarterly prize draw. 🌟 And if you're not yet a Trainers' Library and want to know more about our materials or what we can do for your organisation, get in touch today! 📲 +44 (0) 1434 381122 📩 contact@trainerslibrary.com #awelshholiday #trainerslibrary #communication #teamwork #collaboration #problemsolving #attentiontodetail #informationgathering #informationsharing #learninganddevelopment

I think I might be the 'difficult delegate!' I've just spent two days being a delegate on a workshop doing a spot of professional development. I knew before I attended that the style of the workshop was going to be a challenge for me - different style of hosting, low key, slow pace, lots of feelings... shudder! But, I didn't expect how much I would react to this in the moment. Day one I finished exhausted from holding back just incase it disrupted the group. Day two I made a conscious decision to be more 'me'. In fact I even announced it in our morning check-in. (Basically this just meant asking more questions to clarify practical application, bringing the energy up in, and adding some humour.) My main learning from the two days was less about the content, but a reminder that the trainer / facilitator sets the pace and tone for the session, and when this is at odds with a delegate/s it can lead to opting out and acting out. I don't actually believe in 'difficult' delegates - just different ones. And it's our role as Trainers and Facilitators to be more conscious of our choice to adjust to ensure learning takes place. (P.s. The group was great, the location and weather allowed for lots of outside discussions... always a bonus, and I'm very glad I went. There's learning in every situation.) #curiouslighthouse #learninganddevelopment

✅ It's a wrap! The first part of our two-day training with 7 incredible groups is in the books and what an experience it was! This week, public servants from the Government of Curaçao dove headfirst into our Personal Effectiveness training, and the energy was off the charts. We explored some powerful themes using the brilliant @teamheldenspel.nl cards infused with some powerful “habits for highly effective people” by Steven Covey and here’s what we uncovered together. To be more effective be mindful of: 🔑 Self-awareness; understanding your archetype to better connect with yourself and others. 🤝 Team insight; building stronger, more effective collaboration. 💡 Proactive mindset; taking initiative with a forward-thinking approach. 🗣️ Communication; knowing your archetype language and using SMART and STARR strategies for clarity and impact. ⏳ Time management; managing priorities effectively with a dynamic time matrix for you to manage tasks and tasks not managing you. 💆♀️ Self-care; ensuring balance for sustainable success. We laughed, learned, and leveled up and this is just the beginning! Part two is coming soon, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. What’s your favorite tip for personal effectiveness? Drop it below 👇

What problems do you solve? I caught up with a friend today (thanks Kate Pa'u) seeking her advice and input. After I proceeded to get all excited sharing this super cool rad licensed trainers programme I'm running and how does she think I might get more in-house facilitators interested and she says "Cool, looks good. But what problems does it solve?" and I'm like...hmmmmm. I've done the research, I know the value and benefits. It's the launch pad, complete marketing and workshop kits, the time and energy saving, the incredible resources (wank wank wank) - then realised I'm too in it to actually articulate clearly defined problems and solutions. Poof! Mind blown. Back to basics. The workplace training programme I've been delivering for years (called Communicate Powerfully) is proven to create real change. An 85 NPS score supports that, among pages of amazing words, testimonials and pie graphs stating 100% 'Strongly agree's. And, I've finally articulated what problems it actually solves. Thanks Kate 😘 What's a question you ask, or have been asked, that's brought things back to basics? https://lnkd.in/g7u27WXM #effectivetraining #communicationskills #communicationtraining #askgreatquestions #continuousimprovement #problemsvssolutions

Our clients often feel they speak too quickly but they also think slowing down = boring So what’s the truth? What’s really important to understand is this: Speaking with true gravitas requires contrast in pace, a balance. There MUST be a mix of faster and slower pace. Why? Because your audience will always need contrast. If they don’t get it, they will tune out, it’s a simple ass that. If you always speak at a slow pace, the audience will become bored. If you always speak at a fast pace, they won’t be able to keep up and become tired. What happens when your audience is bored or tired? THEY DISENGAGE! As a rule of thumb: “Pace up” the background (or not important) information “Pace down” the important information This is classic tension/release at work. It allows your audience to focus on what’s important. *** If you're curious to know more about how we could support you, and to hear about our work with other clients through bespoke, one to one and in-company training all over Ireland and Europe, drop us a line info@confidentspeak.com

Q&A can be daunting for any speaker or trainer, but it doesn't have to be—if you're prepared. Preparation? For Q&A? Isn't Q&A all about being improvisational, on-the-spot, in-the-spotlight, and fielding an interrogative rebuttal to every word you've said? No, it just FEELS that way. And yes, you can prepare. In this video, I break down the three most common (and toughest) questions speakers and trainers face—and show you how to handle them with confidence, expertise, and maybe even a little humor.
