💡 Latest Fitness Insight: Muscle Memory and the Power of Rest 🏋️ New research from Finland offers hope for anyone needing a break from strength training! Here’s what the study found: Quick Recovery: Muscle growth quickly bounced back in participants who took a 10-week gym hiatus, reaching pre-break strength and size within just five weeks of returning to training. Continuous Training Slows Gains: Interestingly, those who trained continuously for 20 weeks saw their progress slow after the first 10 weeks. Why? Muscle Memory at Work: Muscle memory helps muscles "remember" previous growth, allowing rapid strength and size recovery after breaks. 🔍 Researchers are diving deeper to uncover the molecular reasons behind this phenomenon. Whether you're a weekend warrior or an athlete, this study suggests rest periods might work in your favor. 💪 #fitnessnews #musclememory #strengthtraining #wellness

How much warm up and activation work do you do prior to your training to prep your body for loads 🤔 ? Why is this so important? I think we’re all guilty of not prioritising activation routines enough.. we’re often tempted to jump straight into our weight work, that’s the fun part, right. But taking some time to add a few activation drills before you train is the way to go 😌☝️ I like to mix in some mobility movements focused on range of motion around a joint together with exercises for core and other stabilising muscles that play an important supportive role in the upcoming workout. Slow and controlled movements gives the muscles and connective tissues time to prepare for more strenous exercises to follow. It’ll switch your mind and body on for the demands allowing you to enhance performance, reduce risk of injuries as well as elevating focus and enjoyment during your workout ⭐️ To get most bang for your buck, you should consider including exercises specific for the type of training you’re planning on doing, whether its a gym workout for strength conditioning or sports related. If you’re finding it difficult to know what exercises are most suitable for your type of training, I’m here to help 🤗 contact Shine Rehab on ☎️ 0404 554 772. #practicewhatyoupreach #lovewhatyoudo #exercisephysiology #mobility #stability #injuryprevention #sunshinecoast #alliedhealthprofessionals

Take a look at the benefits of the reverse lunge to muscle clean exercise and why it's a great addition to your EMS training routine! 1. Force Generation: The muscle clean portion involves a powerful hip extension that is crucial for generating force in athletic activities like jumping and sprinting. This hip drive is key for developing lower body power, and it can be strengthened even faster with EMS training. 2. Quick Transition: The transition from the lunge to the clean teaches the body to quickly shift from stability to an explosive movement. This enhances overall athleticism and rapid power generation – benefits maximized by EMS training. 3. Muscle Fiber Activation: Performing the reverse lunge to muscle clean exercise engages fast-twitch muscle fibers and is essential for explosive movements. EMS training enhances these fibers, improving your ability to perform quick, powerful actions. 4. Core Stability and Balance: The reverse lunge demands significant core engagement to maintain balance and stability, especially during the transition to the muscle clean. EMS training further builds your core strength and stability. 5. Coordination and Motor Skills: By integrating multiple muscle groups and movement patterns, this exercise enhances coordination. Transitioning from the lunge to the clean improves motor skills and proprioception, benefits enhanced by EMS training. ⚡️Want To Learn More About EMS?⚡️ Visit TheActiveWave.com to learn how! #ReverseLungeToMuscleClean #EMSTraining #EMSWorkout #EMSFitness #ActiveWave #EMSMuscleDevice #EMSMuscleTrainingDevice #Motivation #Workout #GymMotivation #FitTok #Exercise #WorkoutMotivation #FitFam #StrengthTraining #WorkoutChallenge #FitnessGoals #FitLife #HealthAndWellness #WorkoutTips #MorningWorkout #BeginnerWorkout #BuildMuscle #WorkoutVideos #WorkoutTutorial #FitnessTech #WorkoutRoutines #XBodyUSA #XBody #XBodyWorld XBody World

Dysfunctional vs Functional Strength Are you actually building “Functional Strength”? Back in November I embarked on this new journey in the Health & Fitness industry. I joined a team who have taught me more about human biomechanics and how the body is designed to move in 2 months… ...Than I’d learned in the past 10 years. The truth is, I - like many - had fallen into this trap of building what I thought was "functional" muscle. All the standard bodybuilder style, compound exercise mixed with some conditioning exercises and slinging weights around. The truth is, Ego was the driver behind a lot of these lifts. Training should make your body feel better, not worse. Mine didn’t feel terrible, but I knew it could be better. I had niggles. I had aches. I had pains. Then I started learning how the body actually moves. How it connects. How it integrates. We are taught to train in a specific way that was largely derived from bodybuilding training - which had the sole focus of building “mirror muscles” i.e. dysfunctional strength. I used to love squats. I used to love deadlifts. I used to love bench press. But my body wasn’t thanking be for this. Now, I train with more integration. It’s been an enlightening few months, and the journey is only starting, but the benefits have been instrumental. I’ll be sharing more on my journey here as I continue to build real functional strength. Comment if you've had any similar experiences, would love to hear, . . . #functionaltraining #strength #fitness #health #healthjourney

3 Simple🧠Brain Gym Exercises for Cognitive Power⚡️ Brain Gym exercises that involve using both left and right hand gestures offer several benefits⬇️ ✅Enhanced Coordination: Engaging both hands in coordinated movements helps improve hand-eye coordination and motor skills. This bilateral activity can enhance overall dexterity and fine motor skills, which are crucial for daily tasks and activities. ✅Improved Hemispheric Communication: These exercises encourage the two hemispheres of the brain to work together. By stimulating both sides of the brain, Brain Gym activities can enhance interhemispheric communication, which is vital for integrated thinking and problem-solving. ✅Increased Cognitive Function: By challenging the brain with activities that require coordination and cognitive processing, these exercises can enhance cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and spatial awareness. This can contribute to improved learning and mental performance. #BrainGym #CognitiveExercises #MemoryImprovement #CreativityBoost #brainhealth #brainfood #braintraining #mindsetmatters #mindfulness #mentalhealth #aloktaunk #clarity

Exercise plays a crucial role in improving focus and memory retention for student athletes. Engaging in regular physical activity increases blood flow to the brain, enhancing cognitive function and promoting neurogenesis, which helps create new brain cells. Even short workouts can boost mood and reduce stress, making it easier to concentrate during study sessions. Incorporating activities like running, strength training, or team sports can provide both physical and mental benefits. Aim to integrate exercise into your daily routine to sharpen your focus and enhance your ability to retain information, leading to better performance both on the field and in the classroom. 🙌🏾 #Exercise #Focus #MemoryRetention #StudentAthletes #CognitiveFunction
