🚀 Nassira Camara, one of our Emerging Leaders, recently participated in the MYCOMM Makeathon organized by JEF Europe thanks to a recommendation from PLACE. This Makeathon offered her an incredible opportunity to collaborate with other passionate individuals working in #youthorganizations to discover the best #communicationtools for highlighting the needs, hopes, and vulnerabilities of young #migrants and #refugees. We asked Nassira about her experience during the Makeathon: Q) What is the most valuable thing you learned while making this video? 🔹 "I have learned the value of collaboration, meaning working with others who have different skills, perspectives, and roles in our video-making project. I have learned storytelling with images and tools we colored, and also visual and audio elements, such as lighting, sound effects, and colors." Q) What do you hope people will learn from this video? 🔸 "I hope people learn the importance of diversity, inclusion, and consideration of migrants in Europe. Our ability to apply theoretical knowledge to a real scenario, the improvement of cross-cultural awareness, and adaptability to effective teamwork demonstrated that everyone is important and can participate in the best future of humanity. If only I could clone myself… 🤔 For big conferences like the ASU+GSV Summit, I usually have an attendance plan because I can’t be in more than one place at a time. I go through each and every session, carefully reading the descriptions and making note of the speakers. It’s like solving a puzzle, trying to fit all the pieces together to create the perfect schedule. I consider factors like the relevance to my career goals, the potential for networking, and food! #conferences #asugsv #asugsvsummit #weekendinmylife

<This was my first Webinar meeting as a speaker and I am glad I had this experience 💯 <The main topic of discussion was building a strong Academic foundation. <In the past I had attended a couple of life changing webinars hosted by Nimelssa as a spectator but nothing beats being the center of attention. <I really had to dig deep within my myself to make sure I am impacting knowledge as much as possible and in the process I did learn so much. <I was able to share my own personal experiences and tips on combining Academics and politics as a student during my undergraduate studies. <They are students who have passion for politics and would very much love to express their leadership skills, but for the fear of poor performance in their academics, political apathy grows within. <Through my experience and knowledge I was able to share and answer key important questions on this topic. <The key to political and academic excellence is found within each individual. Your political ambitions is just as important as your studies but you have to strike a balance, It's important you prioritize and manage your time appropriately. <One of the spectators chatted me after the meeting to share her experience on how she was motivated to run for a certain position because of my story (I was excited I could unknowingly😁🔥). <It boils down to the fact that every decisions we make as human beings would have an impact on another person directly or indirectly. So let's live our lives in the best way possible and make the best out of it while we're still here💯. <Even as a speaker there's still so much you can learn and improve on, I'll take this as a stepping stone for greater heights to reach. <Thank you Cmr.
