Wow… I didn’t expect to get £1,000 in 4 days! 🤯 That’s 25 lives changed all because of your donations. I truly can’t thank you enough. 🥹 For every £1,000 we raise, we can purchase a binder for 25 people (as they typically cost on average around £40!) The applications to apply for a free binder went live just a couple of hours ago now, since we hit our first target, and as I write this at 2:40am, scheduling this post, because I’m far too excited to sleep, we currently have 120 applications… So I’ve now set the goal to £2,000 in order to help more people in their gender care journey. 🏳️⚧️ As a trans man myself, I remember just how life changing receiving my first binder was. It quite literally saved my life. Binding is the process of compressing or reducing chest tissue, it aims to make a person's chest look flatter. Binders are safe to use as long as they fit well. Chest binding can be an important part of someone affirming their gender identity and alleviating a lot of their gender dysphoria. A lot of trans people either don't have the funds to buy their own binder, or the support from their parents to buy them one, so I want Project Free Binders to be the solution to this problem! So if you can donate literally anything at all, you will not only make me the happiest man on earth, but you will be saving lives one binder at a time. The photo below is me back in 2016, when I was fortunate enough to get top surgery. This meant I didn't have to wear a binder ever again. Top surgery is not an easy request, the NHS waiting lists are years long, and going private can cost you upwards of £8,000, depending on where you go and if any revisions are required. This is why binders can be extremely life changing. Let’s continue saving lives one binder at a time. 👉🏻🩵 The link to donate is on my website, on my LinkedIn profile! 🩷🏳️⚧️ #transgender #trans #lgbt #transpride #lgbtqia

Helping women and LGBTQ+ founders and organisations look good while being inclusive and accessible | Founder @ Studio Lutalica | Fractional Creative Director | British Creative Businesswoman of the Year 2023-24
I’m feeling very proud, yet a little sad. We put our heart and soul into this campaign, and although we understand there have been really big emergencies in the past month to say the least, I was (maybe naively?) hoping for something more. The response to the campaign has been absolutely overwhelming, with so many people sharing, commenting, vouching for us and supporting our mission. I still can’t believe how much we managed to build in so little time with Studio Lutalica, and I’m so incredibly proud of the amazing connections we made along the way. But I’m passionate and ambitious so nothing is ever enough 🥲 and I really want to start helping more organisations, especially the ones that don’t have the budget to spend to reach their audiences in a more accessible way. And what do we need to do more? You guessed it - money 💰 It’s been really hard to prove the impact of our work, but to put it as simple as possible: let’s say we work with an LGBTQ+ homelessness charity. We can’t take credit for the brilliance of the services they offer, of course, but if we build a brand that is credible, they can get more donations to help more people. If we build an accessible website, we can make a difference for service users being able to find the organisation and get support, and potentially even get a bed for the night in case of emergency. As I said many times, we will implement a sustainable structure for pro bono services. But with your help, we can start much sooner. It’s not too late. There are two days left to support our crowdfunding campaign. If you have anything to spare, please donate here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ekREhQ3U #PurposeOverProfit #DesignForChange #Crowdfunding #DonateNow #LGBTQDesign #FeministDesign #NonProfit #Pride
🌟It’s the Last Weekend! 🌟 We’re so close to the finish line of our first crowdfunding campaign - if you haven’t yet, please consider donating today. Studio Lutalica is raising funds to build the infrastructure needed to offer pro bono design services to organisations advocating for equality and justice for women and LGBTQ+ communities. Your donation will help us create a sustainable framework so we can amplify these vital voices and their impact. Donate today and help us design brighter futures 👉https://lnkd.in/epa9zY5g #PurposeOverProfit #DesignForChange #LGBTQ #WomenEmpowerment #SocialJustice #Crowdfunding

Pride remains essential as it serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for LGBTQIA+ equality. If someone in your life asks why is #Pride still necessary: ➡ In 2023, the ACLU tracked 510 proposed anti-LGBTQ+ bills in the U.S, with 80+ passing into law ➡ On a national level, LGBTQIA+ youth are 13x more likely to experience homelessness than their straight peers due to community and family rejection, discrimination, and violence ➡ Since 2013, Human Rights Campaign has recorded the deaths of 335 transgender and gender non-conforming victims of fatal violence. In the last 12 months, 90% of victims identified as BIPOC. 🏳️🌈 Help Us Empower LGBTQIA+ Youth This Pride Month by donating in support of LGBTQIA+ youth because WE NEED PRIDE! 🏳️🌈 Donate: https://shorturl.at/WB22T

Happy Pride Month! Did you know we celebrate Pride month in June as June 28th marks the date in history when the first pride march was held in New York City in 1970. As a local business which supports equality in our local business community, we thought of some easy ways in which you can celebrate #pridemonth at your workplace: 1. Create a collaborative Pride playlist. Celebrate Pride by encouraging employees to create a collaborative playlist. This Pride playlist should feature music from LGBTQ+ artists, songs about self-love, self-acceptance, and celebrating diversity. Coming together through music can be a fun way to celebrate pop culture, honor artistic expression, and find a new favorite song. 2. Raise funds for a charitable cause. Even today, members of the LGBT+ community face discrimination. Raising funds for local LGBT+ charities is a fantastic way to help combat this and work to a society which is founded upon equality. 3. Coordinate a Pride Month book club Reading a book written by a queer author, featuring LGBTQ+ characters, or topics, can be a fun way to expand perspectives. Not only is this an educational opportunity, it’s also a bonding opportunity as it gives coworkers a chance to interact with each other outside of their established roles. #cloudtelephony #telecommunications #telecoms #PridePlaylist #CelebrateDiversity #LGBTQ+Artists #SelfLove #SelfAcceptance #CharitableCause #Equality #LGBT+Charities #PrideMonthBookClub #ReadForEquality #EducationandEmpowerment #PrideCelebration #InclusivityatWork #WorkplaceEquality #LoveisLove #PrideParade #RainbowFlags #SupportLGBTQ+Community #AcceptanceandTolerance #LGBTQ+HistoryMonth #ProudAllYearRound #Equalityforall

"Foundations allocated less than 4 cents per $100 of their total giving to U.S. trans communities and issues." -- 2021 Tracking Report: LGBTQ Grantmaking by U.S. Foundations It's been 3 years. What do you think has changed since then? The truth is, I don't know for sure, but I highly speculate that these 4 cents have not increased significantly, if at all. Point of Pride is unique in that our largest fundraiser each year comes directly from the community we serve. In just 2 years, we've seen over 70,000 individuals from the trans, nonbinary, gender-diverse communities, and our allies make donations, averaging $44 each. This community-driven funding constitutes a significant portion of our annual budget, supporting our 5 direct-service programs. I'm grateful for any person, company, or foundation that recognizes life-saving gender-affirming care as a fundamental right for all trans and nonbinary people. As we move into the second half of 2024, I hope to see this support grow rather than shrink, despite the challenging political climate surrounding transgender healthcare and access rights.
