Recently I am seeing lots of posts about Success Stories in detecting PD activities, so I wanted also to share one of success stories (many to come later). However, I wanted to highlight a very important point in the posts I was seeing on LinkedIn in which I noticed that most of the cases are related to Surface discharge which can be detected mainly by ultrasonic PD equipment, whereas in our case we were able to detect the Internal Partial Discharge activities due to our special Electromagnetic Ultra-Wide Band antenna (UWB) Sensor that has one of the highest Sensitivities in the market. A very important point to keep in mind that Internal PD can't be seen unless you open the accessory as shown in our case study. Furthermore, I would like to bring to your attention that this PD detection happened without a single minute lost in the electrical system, meaning we were able to detect the internal PD without any power system shutdown.
