Honouring Miguel Sanchez 💙
We are deeply proud to announce that Miguel Sanchez has been awarded the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Andrew Olah celebrating his passion and dedication to the denim industry.
Miguel was a cherished member of our team and community. His commitment to excellence and doing better set a high standard in our field, inspiring all who worked with him.
Beyond his professional achievements, Miguel was known for his warmth, humour and generosity. He was not only an expert in his field but also a mentor, teacher, father, husband and friend. His guidance and support made a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the community at large.
Miguel’s spirit and contributions will always be with us and his legacy continues to inspire us to strive for excellence and innovation in all that we do.
A special mention to Maria, Miguel's daughter, for accepting this award on his behalf. Her presence and grace truly honored his memory and legacy.
I'm really, really happy to be here. We would like to think that DHCP for giving the award to my friend and colleague on Miguel Sanchez. Do you know me now or you had a chance to meet him? But we all spent his life working either for the majority of his life working for Clarion. You know Mama. And then eventually he worked with with us with the Transformers Foundation. Umm. He loved collaborating with their DHCP. We met Frank. Frank approached us in 2017. With the possibility for us to collaborate with him at that time, he was king pins. And he wanted them industry to get on the gateway. And we made it one of our rules of kingpins that you could not be a exhibitor unless you went on the gateway and began to shove that through. And basically, I think he turned 60 down Mills onto the gateway. And I don't know, Mary Hill can tell us in 18 months or something like that, but an incredible impact. And he did it with joy and he did it because he respected that THC so much in the work that they're doing. With me today is that we have a team leader. Is Joanne Shelton. Joanne worked with Miguel at the Transformers Foundation for a lot of years and wanted to be here for this presentation. My wife is here and my daughter Emily who worked with Miguel almost everyday. And it just returns, forgetting where we have Trisha carry who's on watching on live and animals so much. I think Russia is also watching. So thank you for all of you guys. Being here with us and of course we have Maria, if you can stand up. Begins daughter. Who is this man, Miguel, and why are we here? So. Essentially, he's a chemist and told you what he spent his life doing. But he was the kind of chemist. That could actually build. The denim or an indigo factory, liquid indigo factory, you could pick the parts, you could put the machines together. He could make the factory work and then it could take the liquid into go and take it to a dinner meal and apply it on the arm and find the best possible ways to do it. And then you could take the government when it's made out of denim and then he could tell you the best way to wash it. So because one of those rare people. That could actually understand every component in our industry, the demand industry. Now the denim industry, every time they have a chance to say this is not a small industry. According to my calculations, and I could be wrong, we're close to the size of the global, global movie industry. So we're not small, we're significant. And in that sense, Miguel was a Titan in our industry. Ensure. I would say that we have the incredible opportunity to work with him and our foundation. He informed people and one of the things that we got great joy from is whether you were a new company, whether you were just a student, whether you were a large corporation, many dealt with him. He would happily and freely advise you on the best roads to take in the production of most sustainable product with denim industry. He loves sharing what he knew, and he did it relentlessly to anyone and everyone who asked him. There's a lot more to say about that you have, but today, just wanted to say the last couple of things is that Miguel was an incredibly bright, smart person, way smarter than the average smart person. He was deeply interested in how things worked and why. He was a serious and not a phony environmentalist. He really, really wanted to change the world. And he felt that through Transformers, he could impact the world, and we loved him for it. He educated all of us. Having him around me is all a little braver and we were able to say and do more with him beside us. Now we have to go to work every day without them. And we miss his energy, spirit, and every day we miss as well. Those that work for him understand that what I'm saying the most. So thank you that DHC for recognizing this great gentleman. And Maria, please know that your dad was a really special guy in our industry. So having said all that, thank you just said. We have this award for you. Aye, maybe private. Thank you for having me. Thank you for honoring my father. I'm not as great a public speaker as he was. If you heard him talk before, it was great. It was very funny. He was very passionate about his job and he was very passionate because he truly, like Andrew said, believed in change in the industry. And. Sadly, we lost him six months ago. But after being here today and meeting all of you and meeting so many people and my father used to talk to me about, I truly believe that there can be a change in the industry. And I thank all of you because my father told me for many years that it felt wonderful to work with very good and very talented people who recognized him and valued him. And through you, through Transformers, through CDC, through the many messages that I have gotten over the few months, I can see that. So thank you, thank you for all for honoring him and thank you for having me here and thank you for being a change from the industry.

I feel super proud to receive this award from the Group (Michelin) for the very hard work the team did when we simplified one of our very complicated processes.

What did we achieve?
💰 Profit: We are selling our tyres instead of scrapping them and spending less time wasted for each employee involved in the process.
🖥️ People: We digitalised the process. Making everyday work simplified and easy to do.
♻️ Planet: We are more sustainable because we can avoid scrapping tyres.

✨ I can assure you that I’ll start from share it with my children. Mainly because is one of the best I had the opportunity to see, and for sure it is because I have it quite fresh in my mind the excellent Masterclass “Harnessing communication for impact and growth” I could attend last weekend from Douglas Knowledge Partners in the Universidade de Coimbra, and organized by the MBA para Executivos.
📜 Excellent Communication Strategy from Quaker, the sketch is simple, short and uses a Note to spread positivity and signalize that despite there are moments where things that are not positive, these moments do not reflect all life sequence, where there must be hope, strength and willingness to achieve and perform. Despite there are times of failure, life is not a constant failure. Very much on the other way around and if by the time those bad moments happen if we have a positive message remembering us that "YOU'RE AMAZING :)" you can overcome the situation much more easily and keep on going. But, the biggest message is that if you don’t lose the opportunity to give it to some other, it will bring much more satisfaction on helping others. Well, for me that’s Leadership. Multiply what was given to you helping others, and others, and others. That's a quite a strong and significant insight to be installed 😉

People often ask me, “what do you actually do as a Head of Operations?” 🤔
Not too long ago, my team gave me some heart-warming feedback that probably explains the role better than I ever could:
▶ "Her work behind the scenes has really laid an invaluable organisational foundation for operating the whole company."
▶ "Kelli is syncronizing processes at Woola and trying to keep the whole team moving to the targets."
▶ "Kelli just came to Woola and organised everything like Tinkerbell. She put up clear systems on how to track different projects, the FSC certification process, helped in production, just everywhere."
Needless to say, I’m really humbled by the feedback and may have shed some happy-tears. 😊
As the first-ever Head of Operations at @Woola, I had the chance of establishing and defining this role from the ground up. My main goal when joining Woola was to coordinate projects between sales, product development and production.
Since then, I’ve also made sure we have SOPs in palce, managed the upkeep of different certifications and most recently, kicked off Woola’s lifecycle assessment and started on our sustainability strategy.
Never a dull day!

On March 13th, we had the privilege of hosting the management team from Coca-Cola's Technical, Innovation and Supply Chain Council, led by Ms. Nancy Quan and Mr. Gerardo Artavia Rodríguez. It was an afternoon filled with insightful discussions and opportunities to exchange ideas with industry leaders.
During the visit, our team shared an overview of the public-private partnership model, highlighting how innovative collaboration can lead to win-win outcomes. Subsequently, the discussion delved deeper into past and ongoing collaboration projects between ARTC and Coca-Cola, exploring avenues for deeper collaboration to drive digital transformation and growth in Coca-Cola's manufacturing plants.
A highlight of the visit was the ARTC workshop tour, which included visits to the supply chain tower and the virtual manufacturing lab. During the workshop tour, we showcased supply chain and sustainability solutions aimed at building a resilient and sustainable manufacturing operation.
We are excited to drive innovation in manufacturing, creating a more sustainable business and a better-shared future for people, communities, and our planet.

🌟 Reflecting on a Fulfilling Good Friday 🌟
Last Good Friday wasn't just any day off for me; it was an opportunity to engage in two incredibly enriching mentoring sessions. In the first session, I had the pleasure of guiding a start-up team consisting of three talented individuals, as they embarked on a journey to explore sustainable packaging solutions.
💼 It was inspiring to witness their passion and dedication to creating positive change in the world of packaging. Together, we delved into innovative ideas and strategies, laying the groundwork for a more sustainable future. 🌱

In the second session, I had the privilege of mentoring students in Switzerland who are preparing for their thesis. Our discussion revolved around important topics such as the Green Deal, the Chemical Strategy, and the PPWR.
📚 It was a thought-provoking conversation, exploring the implications of these initiatives and their role in shaping environmental policies and practices. The students' eagerness to learn and engage in meaningful dialogue was truly inspiring.
