Thank you Wells Fargo, who had employees join together from three states to volunteer at Transition Projects! They helped us sort through a LOT of clothing and hygiene items, organize shoes, and winter accessories, so that we get these items out to folks quickly. The Wells Fargo team was a big help tackling some less glamorous, but very important, work! Interested in getting involved? Contact us at volunteer@tprojects.org for more information.

Hey, Hali! 👋 What advice would you give to new employees joining the company? The biggest piece of advice I would give would be to get involved and meet other staff. Safe Haven has so many wonderful people working here that are friendly and knowledgeable. It helps to have multiple resources as you are learning and makes the whole experience great. You can learn something from just about everyone! . What do you enjoy most about working at Safe Haven Security? Outside of the people I work with, my favorite part about working at Safe Haven is helping people. Whether it’s helping homeowners protect their homes with security or helping people save money (and do something good for the environment) with solar, Safe Haven has given me the opportunity to stand behind products and services I believe in. . What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year? I am most proud of the overall growth we've experienced on my team. It's been a neat experience helping each team member grow on an individual basis and have fun while doing it. I was able to get creative with fun contests and team events, and foster an environment where people are excited to learn new things and be competitive with each other (and themselves!). . How has the department you work in grown and developed since you joined? I joined the Solar division shortly after it started so there has been a ton of growth and development since then. We have brought on new partners, opened new markets, and honed our program. It's been a fun challenge learning this industry and developing Safe Haven's solar program with the other department heads over the last few years! . What is one thing you want to achieve in the upcoming year? This year I will be transferring from the Solar Division to our Affiliate Division where I look forward to working with a new team and new clients. I love taking on challenges and learning new things, so this will be a big year for my professional growth and development. . #management #personaldevelopment #culture

What if I mess up? I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m just a 13 yr old kid—no one’s going to take me seriously. I’ll probably never get to work the drive-thru anyway. 📍 Libertyville, IL ++++++++ 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: Driving by that McDonald’s recently, I couldn’t help but thank my 13-year-old self. She didn’t have it all figured out, but she showed up, learned to ask for what she wanted, and laid the groundwork for the grit and drive that still fuels me today. ++++++++ 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿: This post is part of "𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝟲𝟲 𝟮.𝟬," a raw, empowering journey fueled by vulnerability. Over the next 66 days, I’m taking the negative self-talk in my head and flipping the script into something positive. This project is inspired by Atomic Habits by James Clear, who highlights that it takes 66 days to form a habit. If you’re seeing this and didn’t catch my announcement a couple of weeks ago, welcome to the journey—it’s messy, it’s REAL, and it’s all about reclaiming the narrative. #Project66 #Project662.0 #InspiredByAtomicHabits #CtrlAltDelYourSelfTalk

One of the unexpected joys of starting a business is building a company culture from scratch. Biohazard and crime scene cleanup attracts a certain kind of off-kilter personality. And at Triad Property Recovery, we don’t just embrace it—we embody it. Take, for example, our un-patented, highly scientific product names like Ronnie James Clean-O (our standard cleaning agent for getting that "Rainbow in the Dark" shine) and Broomba (the makeshift broom rack in the back of our van). Then there’s our real talent: turning any song from the last forty years into a biohazard cleanup anthem. You might enjoy such hits as “Don’t Stop Disinfectin’” and “Bleach It” (although you shouldn't bleach it). At the end of the day, if you’re tackling some of the nastiest jobs out there, why not have a little fun while you’re at it? Culture isn’t just something we create—it’s what keeps us laughing, connected, and ready for anything. #SmallBusinessLife #BiohazardCleanup #TriadPropertyRecovery

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (and I don’t mean one you’re climbing), you’ve probably heard of #Patagonia. One of the world’s most recognizable outdoor brands, Patagonia has plenty of fans. And that’s not down to chance. They’ve gotten to where they are today by leveraging bold and innovative #content #marketing #strategies that promote their mission to connect them with like-minded #consumers. The Shitthropocene is a mock anthropological view of humanity's consumption habits, turning a satirical (yet brutally honest) eye on how everything is turning to s*** and why the impulse towards more might destroy us all! This film is about consumption, which is both a cause and a symptom of the suckiness! For a bunch of reasons, pretty much everyone is making and buying too much stuff, which we are evolutionarily programmed to want. What was once an advantage (more! = better!) is now contributing to the destruction of the planet.

Shit-throp-o-cene - an era of global decrease of the standard of living characterised by surrounding ourselves with things that are crappier and crappier and last as long as a pet hamster in kindergarten 🐹 Many, if not all, of us occasionally fall into the trap of #consuming things even when our needs are satisfied. While owning more or low-quality, single-use items does not make us happier, often leading to #anxiety and #fomo. Besides the impact on our mental health, #Nature and #Climate suffers, too. Clothing contributes to 10% of global emissions and generates enormous waste of resources, such as water, filling our landfills. Can #degrowth be the remedy helping de-shit-ise our economies, reduce #consumptioninsm and fill our lives with things that truly matter - quality, relationships, purpose and #jomo (#TheJoyOfMissingOut)? I highly recommend #TheShitthropocene film by Patagonia for those who want to learn more. Extra bonus...it mentions New Zealand! 🇳🇿
