Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision for a better world. Dr. King believed in action and equality, and that change is possible when we support each other. That’s what we’re working toward when we envision a just community in which everyone has access to a safe, affordable home. Whether it’s volunteering to provide a meal or supporting through donations, there are many ways to be part of something greater. Today, we at LT Strategic Advisors recognize and honor the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We recognize and commemorate his leadership and legacy in advancing a more equitable and just society. And, while we face a rise of authoritarian power in our nation today, we recommit ourselves to our individual and organizational commitments to social justice. As Dr. King famously said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." We remind both nonprofit organizations and donors alike of Dr. King's somewhat lesser-known quote below. Donors, take a moment today to take stock of your giving and organizations, consider what you do with charitable dollars received and ensure you are advancing equity and not perpetuating injustice.

The importance of research and science. Scripture is a field that goes beyond research and helps with Cancer.
Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader whose vision for equity and service aligns with the values of our founder, Danny Thomas, and continues to inspire the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. King once said, "If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way." At St. Jude, we see the profound impact of small acts of kindness and care every day. Since before we opened our doors in 1962, Danny Thomas envisioned St. Jude as a place that would break down barriers to health care and provide equal access to life-saving treatments—regardless of race, religion or financial status. Memphis holds a deep connection to Dr. King’s legacy, and we encourage reflection and service during this time. Whether through community clean-ups, donation drives or supporting the work of organizations like the National Civil Rights Museum, we have an opportunity to honor his vision in meaningful ways. Let Dr. King's words inspire us all to serve our patients, families and communities with compassion and purpose, every day. #MLKDay

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader whose courage and vision forever changed the course of history. His tireless work advanced racial justice, economic equality, affordable housing, labor rights, and so much more. His legacy is a call to action for all of us. Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” In my personal and professional life, I reflect on this often. Let’s reflect on that and challenge ourselves to step beyond our comfort zones to honor his ideas and your own in meaningful ways. Let today be a reminder to: ✨ Attend Commemorative Events: Don’t just watch from the sidelines—immerse yourself in parades, lectures, and gatherings to connect with his message and others who share his vision. ✨ Serve Your Community: Find a project that pushes you to engage deeply with those in need. Volunteering is a way to live out Dr. King’s commitment to service. ✨ Learn & Reflect: Read books, watch documentaries, or visit museums that make you think critically about civil rights, justice, and the role you play in creating change. ✨ Take Real Action: Move beyond reflection—speak out, advocate, or even take a leadership role in building a more equitable world. ✨ Spread the Message: Share Dr. King’s powerful words on equality, love, and nonviolence to inspire others to join you. Dr. King’s dream requires all of us to be bold, compassionate, and willing to act, even when it feels uncomfortable. Change happens when we lean into discomfort and turn intention into impact. I’m also using today as an opportunity to contribute to the LA Fire Relief efforts. From the Bay Area, I’m doing my part by donating, and I challenge you to join me. Whether big or small, every act of kindness adds up. Be part of the collective with Life Science Cares Bay Area to support the LA Fire Relief - check out the amazon donation page being send to West Valley Family YMCA: https://lnkd.in/g8f3WDQh #MLKDay #MLKLegacy #StepUp #Equality #Service #LAFireRelief

Honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once asked: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” This question challenges me every day and fuels my purpose. Community. Connection. Authenticity. These are the values I carry forward as I work to build trust and support small businesses and nonprofits. When I show up for others, with genuine care and a commitment to serve, it creates a ripple effect of growth, empowerment, and positive change. Supporting one another strengthens not just our communities, but the businesses, organizations, and people at their core. Today, as we honor Dr. King’s legacy, let’s commit to showing up for each other, with trust, intention, and action. Together, we have the power to create something extraordinary. What will you do today to serve others and carry Dr. King’s dream forward? #MLKDay #CommunityConnectionAuthenticity #SupportingSmallBusiness #BisonHeartGroup #connection #CommunityFirst #nonprofit

Today is a lot of things: Martin Luther King, Jr. day. Inauguration of a new/old administration. Nearly two weeks since fires began ripping through LA and cleaving us into a stark before/after that is being written as we speak. In the wake of this upheaval and the cusp of a new after, here's what I hope will stick around and help define a better after. And some things we could all really do without. Let's amplify: ✅ Community compassion and organization at scale ✅ Circular solutions, even during a crisis (Suay in DTLA is doing an incredible job of this with the overage of clothing donations) ✅ Fast-tracking permits for more affordable housing ✅ Planning and building climate-resilient homes and communities ✅ Insurance-backed prevention and stewardship ✅ Civic investment beyond green-washing and old-school philanthropy Let's say goodbye: ❌ Rent gouging (anytime really, but esp after an emergency.) ❌ Trickle-down decision-making ❌ Ignoring the uneasy relationship between new tech and resources (ahem, AI and its water/energy consumption) ❌ Further consolidation and ownership by the few This list only scratches the surface, but it's essentially my field notes from the largest fire in LA history -- one that lost lives and burned 3 Manhattan's worth of land, homes, businesses, communities, and legacies. I'll keep adding to it as we continue to recover and rebuild. #LAfires #eatonfire #rebuild #renew #fieldnotes
