Nice to see Air Cargo Week's Anastasiya Simsek feature Zvi Schreiber in their regular 60 second spotlight. One of the questions Zvi was asked was "How do you motivate your team?" Zvi's answer? "I try to be honest and share my excitement about our vision and the difference we can make. It’s also important to be open about the challenges and problems along the way." It's disheartening that the comments immediately tied this incident to DEI. Nowhere in the article it mentions gender, race, or sexual orientation. The secondary theme was that it's a political policy. The article adjective used to describe the first officer was "newer". At first, you would think handing control to a less experienced pilot is wrong .A pilot once told me "how do you think we learn? That happens everyday. Sims only go so far" Again, the issue is how addressing representation in the workforce immediately translated into Difference=inferior. Is it fear and resentment? Poorly communicated ( or implementation) of development of under represented talent programs? It would have been good for the outlet itself to interject in the comments.
