Transport Accident Commission (TAC)’s Post

In collaboration with our road safety partners, we will continue striving for our shared goal of eliminating road trauma on Victorian roads. #TACVictoria #roadsafety

We’re continuing to invest in road safety with Road Safety Action Plan 2. In the plan we’ve detailed how, alongside our road safety partners, Transport Accident Commission (TAC), Victoria Police Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria and Victorian Department of Health, we’ll continue to work on reducing trauma and deaths on our roads. We are continuing to deliver on over $1.1 billion of investment supporting the our commitment to halving deaths and significantly reducing road trauma by 2030, including $350 million for new initiatives. The funding will deliver critical road safety infrastructure, including safety barriers on high-risk curves, rural and urban roads. To protect vulnerable road users like pedestrians and cyclists the plan will fund infrastructure improvements at more than 100 high-risk sites across the state. We will also extend the Distracted Driving and Seatbelt Camera Program that detects dangerous and distracted behaviours such as illegal use of portable devices and seatbelt non-use. We encourage people to also think about the role they play in making our roads safer and to drive safely on our roads. Read the plan in full https://lnkd.in/ga4RzR4E

Can’t see any motorcycle rider representative group here. Why are we left out of critical discussion about road safety.
