Anyone who has flown into New York recently cannot have failed to notice the work that has been going on to transform the city's airports. Whether it's the huge construction activity taking over JFK, or the shining new facilities at LaGuardia, or the Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility at Newark, there are plenty of examples of how P3 is being used to completely overhaul these destinations. Flughafen Wien - Vienna Airport (Austria) has been given a deadline until 2030 to complete the construction of its third runway, as ruled by the Federal Administrative Court (BVwG). The decision comes after the airport had requested a 9.5-year extension until 2033, citing uncertainties in air traffic caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) has unveiled a state-of-the-art high-rise pedestrian bridge as part of its International Arrivals Facility (IAF). This impressive structure, standing 85 feet above the ground, directly connects passengers from the S Concourse to the new 450,000-square-foot Grand Hall, streamlining the arrivals process and significantly enhancing the passenger experience. The bridge, which opened in 2022, is a key component of SEA’s nearly $1 billion investment to accommodate growing international traffic. By facilitating quicker connections and reducing congestion, the elevated walkway underscores the airport’s commitment to modernization and its role as a leading gateway for global travelers. A #BizAv building boom in New York led by The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and Sky Harbour Group is a welcome development for private aviation in the metropolitan region adding much-needed aircraft shelter space to what is one of busiest airspaces in the country.
