Have you ever felt like an article missed a crucial part of the story? The article linked below discusses the benefits of private fleets versus transactional capacity from carriers, emphasizing the advantages of in-house fleet operations. However, it overlooks the option of hiring a dedicated contract carrier. A dedicated carrier offers improved customer service, supply chain control, and protection from market shifts without the need for capital investments or transportation experts. This solution allows companies to focus on their core business while experiencing the benefits a private would provide. It's essential to explore all options, costs, risks, and benefits before deciding on a fleet strategy. If you're considering a private fleet or currently have one, I encourage you to research all of the options available. Feel free to reach out to me for a discussion on Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC) versus private fleets or transactional freight. A common misconception in the logistics industry is the belief that you need to fill all the cargo space when shipping with a courier service. While this might seem like a practical approach, it's actually not necessary, and in many cases, it's not the most efficient or cost-effective choice. Understanding the range of transportation options available can help you make more informed decisions. For instance, we offer a variety of vehicles to suit different needs, all supported by a network of highly experienced couriers and drivers. These professionals are fully insured and capable of handling deliveries of all sizes, from small motorbikes for quick, local deliveries to 7.5-tonne trucks for larger loads. Selecting the appropriate vehicle depends on several factors, including the size and weight of your shipment, the required delivery speed, and the most efficient routes. For example, a small van might be sufficient for a single pallet weighing 300 kg, while a larger 7.5-tonne truck can handle up to 12 pallets. By carefully choosing the right vehicle, you can optimize costs and delivery times, sometimes achieving greater efficiency than initially expected. Before making your choice, I strongly recommend speaking with me or a member of my team. We can help you select the best option in terms of cost, efficiency, and routes. It might be more affordable or faster than you initially thought.
