Got an interesting message recently about using AI to “delete daily standups” by automating updates from tools like GitHub, Jira, and Slack. Sure, AI can help automate boilerplate readouts—and so can other structured tools—but standups are so much more than that! They’re a chance to connect, share needs (and successes!), and create space for serendipity to happen. Removing that human element? Not sure it’s worth the trade-off. Let’s use AI to enhance our workflows, but keep the heart of what makes teams thrive. If your technical team fails you, listen to this. I got a call from a prospect who reached out because I had previously provided training to his team on how to operate AI chatbots and more. Months went by without hearing anything from them, but now, surprisingly, they still couldn't manage to implement it. Beyond the chatbot platform, they had a ton of complicated, crazy setups — just insane and really hard to manage. The takeaway? You don’t need to do everything alone! First, be clear about what you need to accomplish. Second, most of the time, you don’t need 10 different platforms connected through APIs or tools like Zapier. When things go live, especially real-time, it often fails and becomes a nightmare to manage. Keep it simple. You just need to talk to the right person to help you choose the best automation tool.
