📚 Just Released: Unveil the Cutting-Edge Findings in Our Latest Publication! During the ELLIIT focus period in Lund 2023, a team of visiting scholars tackled the challenge of uplink positioning and tracking of a mobile robot using a dataset of distributed MIMO (D-MIMO) measurements from [1]. The dataset involved 12 distributed single-antenna anchors acquiring channel state information as the robot navigated a harsh industrial environment with strong multipath propagation and obstructed line-of-sight conditions. The scholars successfully solved the problem by implementing delay-Doppler processing, which eliminates the need for precise phase calibration. They fused data from the distributed anchors and utilized 3D positioning and tracking of the robot through Bayesian filtering, approximately implemented with a particle filter. Remarkably, despite operating at 3.75 GHz with a limited bandwidth of only 35 MHz, they achieved near centimeter-level accuracy in the plane of motion. Their findings will be presented in their paper "Accurate Direct Positioning in Distributed MIMO Using Delay-Doppler Channel Measurements" at SPAWC 2024 next week. Excited to share that my research paper, based on my Master's Thesis, has been published and presented at the IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation 2024 in Padova, Italy! It's a proud moment for me and my coauthors David Hoffmann , Marco Rudolph and Prof. Arndt Lüder. Our paper titled "Integrating Domain Expertise into Dynamic Digital Models: A methodology for Behavior Driven Production Modelling" takes inspiration from Behavior Driven Development (BDD) Testing concept from Software and integrates it with Digital Twin (DT) concept. The research focuses on testing the production system on the left side of the V-Model by introducing BDD as an immediate step after requirement elicitation. This way making the product development cycle more agile. In this comprehensive survey, we explored the forefront of computer vision technology, focusing on: 🔍 Multi-Object Tracking: Analyzing various trackers and their performance to develop robust algorithms for real-time tracking of multiple objects. 🔍 Person Search: Innovations in identifying and locating individuals within extensive datasets. 🔍 Reidentification: Enhancing the ability to recognize and reidentify individuals across different camera views. It was a pleasure to engage in so many conversations with technical specialists at the 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵. Some reflections after ABISS2024: -After a discussion on 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 a visitor remarked: “We can meet to discuss the project, but don’t bring sales people, we want to talk to 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀”. We couldn’t agree more ! No sales talk, engineers talking to engineers. -For the first time at a trade fair, we have heard the term “𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝗼𝗳-𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱” in at least 1 out of 3 conversations. A sign that things are finally changing. -Despite all digital transformations, 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹 seems still very much alive in many companies. Clearly, something went wrong along the way. -Very few 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 present on this event, this industry remains a male-dominated space. We regret that and hope to see more diversity in the future! -Many companies have digitized or automated, but true 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is still a challenge. We're ready to help bridge that gap. -Everybody wants 𝗔𝗜, but few have enough data to truly leverage it.
