#Kombucha is a type of fermented tea drink. It has recently increased in popularity as part of the health and wellness trend and is widely available. Kombucha products vary depending on the: • microorganisms present • fermentation time • type and quantity of tea and sugar used. The evidence of health benefits associated with kombucha is limited. While it can be an alternative to sugary drinks, some commercial products contain alternative sweeteners to enhance the sweet taste. (From The Heart Foundation website). Have you tried kombucha? #girlfriendshealth #fermentedtea #teadrink

Let's understand the guidelines ICMR issued on tea and coffee consumption. 🧐 We all drink tea or coffee because it is a part of our daily lives, but what is the ideal amount? ✅ The ICMR recommends a daily caffeine intake limit of 300 mg. To put this into perspective, 150 ml serving of, ☕ Brewed coffee = 80–120 mg caffeine 🍵 Instant coffee = 50–65 mg caffeine 🫖 Tea contains 30–65 mg of caffeine ❌ Additionally, the ICMR advises abstaining from tea or coffee consumption at least an hour before and after meals. But why? 🤔 This is because these beverages contain a compound called tannin, which can interfere with iron absorption in the body. Tannin can bind to iron in the digestive tract, forming a complex that is harder for the body to absorb. This reduces the amount of iron that enters your bloodstream from the food you eat, leading to a decrease in iron availability in your body. So, are you going to follow these guidelines? Let us know in the comments. 📌 For more informative updates on the food industry, follow Foodyaari! #tea #coffee #icmr #icar #food #digestion #health #nutriton #india #humanbody #diseases #foodbeverages #beverages #foodbeverageindustry
