The last thing you want to consider when traveling by flight is theft on board, especially with all the other concerns that come with it. Both other passengers and airline personnel, typically flight attendants, steal from carry-on luggage. Sadly, theft from unaware and sleeping passengers has been going on for years, who knows how frequently these incidents happen, even if they are not very widespread. The public is only made aware of the crime when an arrest is made. Here are some to minimize your chance of having items stolen in-flight: • Make a note of your baggage. Often, carry-on bags have a similar design. Use a label or ribbon to identify your luggage so that it may be easily distinguished from other suitcases. • Secure your checked baggage. Even though it may be inconvenient, lock your carry-on bag to prevent anyone from accessing it when you sleep or use the restroom on an aircraft. • Stow your wallet and cash in your checked luggage. Don't place your purse or any other valuables in the outermost pockets of your backpack. That is like saying, "Help yourself," to a thief. Be diligent and mindful of your surroundings and those close to you, especially when traveling. #travel #theft #airline #travelling #airportsafety
