I've built and led teams across 4 continents 🌍 How? Through remote work. 10 years ago I would have never thought this could be possible: Interviewing 🌐 Sending a job offer 📨 Onboarding 🚀 Scaling the team 📈 Crushing milestones 🏆 All from wherever you want in the world. But as someone with Mediterranean roots 🇮🇹 there was always one thing missing… Meeting all those wonderful people in person 💜 Remote is great, but meeting your team face-to-face? That’s next level. "Oh you are way taller than I thought!" "Wow I feel like I've known you forever" "OMG I can't believe I can hug you!" That feeling... unbeatable! Traveling to meet your team isn’t just fun, it’s smart business: Engagement ↳ Social events = Higher engagement Retention ↳ 29% lower turnover ↳ 76% of Gen Z say business travel influences their decision to stay ROI of Business Travel ↳ 95% of leaders say they’d lose customers without them ↳ 34% of leaders credit 1/3 of sales growth to in-person meetings The good news is: TravelPerk's £50k travel competition is STILL ON 🌍 (check details below 👇🏼) How did it feel meeting your remote colleagues in person? 💜 ———— TravelPerk is currently offering £50k worth of travel credit to one lucky business! 95% of leaders say they’d lose customers without meeting them in person?! 😱
Where is your next get-together? :)
Did you know 94% of C-suite report their employees are more engaged after a team social gathering? ✨
The community administration team from the Eco-Enabler Alliance CIC operates remotely most of the time, and did entirely to start with until we started running events. I must admit I was surprised at some being taller and others being shorter when we first met up, and realise how much a person's onscreen presence can create a different impression to what they are like in real life. I don't think it changes much, unless the business involves physical activity - but I have also realised a need to check up on how someone is doing outside of work too.
💯 on the in-person meetups. There's nothing quite like that feeling of finally connecting with your team IRL.
We had this experience over at Fame. It turns out we aren’t all the same height 😂
and thanks to remote work, it once allowed me to live in your beautiful country! 🇮🇹
Elisabetta Torretti I would love to meet you in person one day too
